    AX88U replacement power supply

I recently moved an AX88U to a location where the "PC style" power block/cord is objectionable under the WAF agreement. I'm not having any luck finding a 19.5V 2.5A or greater wall wart for replacement. Has anyone found such a wall wart for the AX88U? If so, can you provide a link? THANKS IN...

AIMesh node vs Access Point mode / AIMesh Router in AP mode

Same channel is an issue. Thanks! (sorry for the first response, I missed the last bit) :)

AIMesh node vs Access Point mode / AIMesh Router in AP mode

Can someone confirm that AiMesh still sets ALL nodes to the same channel for WiFi when wired backhaul is used? I'm setting up a new network for a friend using 2xAX86S as AP nodes and an AX88U Pro as the main, ALL WIRED BACKHAUL. I already know that all 3 nodes using the same channel won't be...

Might be ready to give AiMesh another look

History tells me that this is needed when making such changes in the network to ensure all tables and other data is properly updated across the network. There's always a handful of issues and when doing factory resets. It's best to bring everything to a known state. To be clear, I said...

Might be ready to give AiMesh another look

Sorry, I just presumed folks would understand the possibility of growing to a class B as an indication of a crowded network!!! When I enable a guest network I do it network wide. Fortunately, once they're setup on each node a simple enable/disable is all that is required. The node remembers...

Might be ready to give AiMesh another look

Hmmm, I just did a search in THIS Merlin forum for "AiMesh" and got 10 pages of hits. I really don't want to rehash AiMesh issues over the years. Most understand what they've been. I think I've provided more than enough info on what I'm trying to do but welcome to answer any specific...

Might be ready to give AiMesh another look

I've tried AiMesh a few times over the years and it's never been worth it to ME for the problems it brought versus me manually managing my nodes. I'm looking at a possible "redo" of much of my network to support more IOT and am open to giving it another trial. It's a lot of work to go back and...

Using Linksys MR7500 Hydra Pro 6E as AP

ISams is clearing out their Linksys Hydra Pro 6E. I thought for fun I'd add it as an AP out in my workshop to upgrade an old AC68 workhorse. It's connected as an AP on a dedicated wireless backhaul. I saw nothing in the manual about AP mode on this router and nothing about disabling DHCP and...

    AX86S LED came on "magically"

It happened again a couple nights ago. Went into the setting, the LED off was set, I did an "APPLY" and rebooted. They were off after the reboot. If it happens again I'll just try the reboot.

    Increase lan speed with AI-Mesh

Test that physical link with another pair of devices. Do the test device to device, no switches or routers and use the cables you currently use to connect the routers. Just because you get an "electrical connection" of 1Gb doesn't mean you get a data throughput of 1Gb. One of the most classic...

Out of left field, LINKSYS MR9610 question

I THINK this is the right place but if not, delete or move!!! One of my trusty AC68 APs finally gave up the ghost in a recent storm. It's out in my shop as a wired AP covering a wide open 2K ish feet. My entire network is ASUS running Merlin, consisting of AX88 (main and AP), AX86 (AP), AC68...

    ASUS N66U and OpenVPN woes.

Do a search, there's a recent thread on the topic.

    ASUS N66U and OpenVPN woes.

Don't know what your direct VPN issue is but IMO it's definitely time to upgrade that N66 to something fully supported with ongoing updates.

    New firmware for AX86U

If you haven't done so, I'd suggest a factory reset and re-configure. If you've done that, I'd suggest contacting ASUS if still under warranty.

    ASUS RT-AX3000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.22237

Over the years I've had issues like this after updating firmware that required a factory reset and reconfiguration to fix. It's not unique to ASUS. Give it a try and let us know.

If you had to replace your router today which unit would you buy?

It depends and there's not enough info here to provide an answer. Would need to know more about your environment, your devices, your expectations, your budget .... IMO there is no one sized fits all "best". I by your signature you've got an AX88. That's a pretty solid router to begin with...

What router to use as an AiMesh node, with support for (future) Pro features (VLAN)?

IMO if you can provide a wired backhaul, AP mode is the only way to go.

What router to use as an AiMesh node, with support for (future) Pro features (VLAN)?

Both Amazon and BestBuy have the AX86S (two cpu version of the AX86U) for $180 which I think is a great price. I'm pretty sure they support the features you're looking for but I'm sure others will comment as well.

What are my options for enabling WireGuard on RT-N66U

IMO it's time to upgrade that N66 if for nothing else than support and processor upgrade. I use one of these RT-AX86S for an AP and I also installed one in a friend's house. This is a GREAT price IMO. It's a 2 CPU version of the AX86U and the coverage is solid. If funds permit, go for the...
