How to disable wifi 6 on AiMesh node?

    You won't regret it.

How to disable wifi 6 on AiMesh node?

Are the nodes connected by wire? If so, ditch AiMesh and put the second router into AP mode. You will now have full control over your router and be able to better utilize features and radio spectrum. If a wire is available for backhaul, I'd never use AiMesh.

    Issues with 386.2_2 on RT-AC86U

Do you have an AP hard wired to your main router? A wireless device connected to the AP shows up as a wired device in this case. As far as I know, that's been like that for ever. Just asking for clarification. As I move around the house my phone or laptop will change from wired to wireless...

Best Asus - Merlin Supported - VPN Router

The AX88U was both available and "on sale" last week for $290. If you need something right away then this was the time to pull the trigger in today's market IMO. While I detest BestBuy it looks as though they still have it for $300. I've been very pleased with the AX88U...

RT-AX88U mount problem USB3.0 after reboot

I'd still recommend a self powered device, either via the powered hub idea or a powered enclosure. You can get a USB 3.0/3.1 2.5" enclosure with a power brick for $20-$30. Why ask the $300 router to serve power which has traditionally been a common issue (cheap power bricks that can do nasty...

    Good deal on AX88U; $60 off - IMO ;)

If this is the wrong place, please move. If this is not allowed, please remove. If you're looking for this router, newegg has it on shellshocker today for $60 off. I've been very happy with mine for the past few months...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

I'm sorry, your response confuses me. Based on what you said I don't understand why you even posted. Good luck!

    flashing a new router?

If switching from ASUS firmware to Merlin I highly recommend you do a factory reset! I typically use the GUI unless chasing a strange behavior. After the first reset, flash to Merlin, and then do another factory reset and proceed. I wait about 5 minutes or so between each step but that's my...

    Two RT-AX68Us, different channel options

Have you tried a chat session with ASUS support? I tried but you need a valid serial number to do so.

Small Deadspot - How to address?

Are the 2 nodes connected by wire? If so ditch AiMesh and put the second router into AP mode so you can select the frequencies independently on each router and for each band. As suggested above, you may have some interference issues. If not, then you go to the other solutions like repeaters...

    Exhaust Fans on ASUS Routers?

BTW, I finally broke down and installed these on my 3100's and AX88 to control the fan speed. So far I've been able to reduce the noise and speed without raising the temp. I'll report back if they begin to fail. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07T35R51R/?tag=snbforums-20

    Exhaust Fans on ASUS Routers?

I started running fans on my router back with my RT-N16. Took an old 386 CPU fan and an old USB cable that I spliced up to power it on 5V so it ran slower (12V fan). I currently run these on my AC3100's and AX88. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZJ47Z2J I put little rubber "dots" in the 4...

Asus RT-AX3000 reboots every 3 or 4 days with a crashlog

Did you try a complete factory reset and then re-flash? I know many will say it's redundant but when I run into situations like this I always try Remover all connections from the router Factory reset and wait 5 minutes after reboot Flash target firmware and wait 5 minutes after reboot Factory...

Wireless question from our recent weather incident in Texas

Ya, I was hoping to avoid that by building a "frankinlink" which is why I really wasn't keen on buying more panels :) And I completely forgot that these older devices are WEP :) :) At least I cleaned out a box of junk from my closet. I did find an RT-N16 still NIB, shrink wrap and all, and...

Wireless question from our recent weather incident in Texas

That was the response I was expecting :( I think I have a couple very old single antenna N or G devices someplace and they may have a bridge mode. I'll have to look. If not, what if I could pick up 2 more of these panels and connect 3? Just thinking out loud here.

Wireless question from our recent weather incident in Texas

Y'all may have heard about the recent arctic event here in North Texas. It reminded me of my days growing up just off the shores of Lake Erie :) Many lost internet, power, ... for days as we plummeted to 0 and below bursting pipes and causing other mayhem. We were fortunate to only lose cell...

Mixed mode WPA3/2 on Netgear RXA45 from Costco

I apologize for any controversy :) I also learned my lesson (again) about recapping things "on the quick" with little attention to proof reading/message conveyed. However my intent was to point out the loss in advertised "horse power" between the 2 that may or may not be all marketeering :)...

Mixed mode WPA3/2 on Netgear RXA45 from Costco

Ya, I've decided to muddle through with my existing hardware for awhile. I've boxed up the Netgear and it will return to Costco on the next visit. Sometimes the old workhorses just keep providing pleasant surprises :)

Mixed mode WPA3/2 on Netgear RXA45 from Costco

The answer to this question is as expected, no, it does not support mixed mode WPA3/2. I'm also sad to report that after so many years of not using one of their products, Netgear still has a rather clumsy UI and the overall wireless coverage of this router is no better than an AC68 (obviously...

Please help me setup my AiMesh on three RT-AC68U

If I understood your setup, you've got a hardwire connection to each of your AP nodes from the main router. If that's the case, do yourself a favor and skip AiMesh. Just use them as traditional APs. Much more flexible, configurable and reliable. Plus you don't have to reset your whole...
