    Wifi 7 pointless

Sounds like it's an Asus bug. Could be an intel driver bug that affects both Windows and Linux(unlikely but possible). Wi-Fi 7 is very immature right now. I'm sure we'll be seeing faster more symmetrical speeds over the next year.

    Wifi 7 pointless

If you have no other device that'd be awesome. It'd at least rule out where the bug is happening, Intel driver, Windows, or Asus.

    Wifi 7 pointless

If it's an MLO bug, I'm thinking yours is stuck uploading on 6GHz/320MHz and downloading on 5GHz/160MHz, and since I have an RT-BE88U mine is stuck uploading 5GHz/160MHz and downloading 2.4GHz/40MHz. I'm unsure if this is a Windows bug or Intel driver bug or Asus router bug. I don't have any...

    Wifi 7 pointless

This seems like a bug, I'm also having a similar issue I mentioned in your other thread: If your connection is faster when you disable MLO, then we are experiencing the same issue.

    WAVLINK Intel be200

I'm having this same issue specifically with MLO. RT-BE88U, BE200 card in laptop, win 11 24h2, latest intel wifi drivers. DL capped around 600mbps, UL around 1600mbps. When I disable MLO I get 1900 up/down.

    Wifi 7 pointless

Are you using Windows? The only Windows version that supports MLO is the unreleased Windows 11 24H2 update. Should be out in a month.

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

Oops yes that's correct. Only official Asuswrt 5.0 has come to it. Thought I read somewhere Merlin 3.0.0.6 was coming to it but maybe not.

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

The RT-AX88U Pro is $100 USD cheaper than the RT-BE88U in my country, and is one of the few pre-Wi-Fi 7 routers to get both AsusWRT 5.0 and the latest Merlin. It has a couple less ports than the RT-BE88U or your RT-AC88U, but would be good for your needs. The RT-AX88U (non-pro) is also a good...

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

If Merlin is required, the only BE routers guaranteed to get Merlin are the RT-BE88U, RT-BE96U, RT-BE98 Pro, to my knowledge. The RT-BE88u is the cheapest BE router in Asus' lineup that has the 2.6ghz quad core and 2gb RAM, like the higher end models. It also has the most ports of any standard...

    UPS to protect ONT, router?

To my knowledge and for my usage, yes. If my rough napkin math is right it'll run my ONT and router over an hour which is all I need. Possibly up to 3 hours depending on device current consumption and load

    ASUS Unveils RT-BE88U WiFi 7 Dual-Band Router

He announced last week that it will be supported soon, next major release I believe.

    UPS to protect ONT, router?

My Amazonbasics 400VA one has been good to me for my router and ONT.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

I'm excited to test out Merlin on my RT-BE88U as well. It's a good choice porting it to this router, as one of the best Wi-Fi 7 routers lacking the 6GHz band and many countries not allowing 6GHz I think it'll be very popular

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

In the US the maximum allowed power in the 6GHz band has been increased as long as the router manufacturer follows FCC AFC regulations. Possibly true of other countries as well. Technically this can be implemented in Wi-Fi 6E, but it seems only Wi-Fi 7 routers are gaining this feature. This...

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

On Wi-Fi 7 routers with AFC, 6GHz bands will get a power boost making them have the same range as 5GHz. Most Asus models don't have it enabled yet but claim they will this year or next.

Standard Power & 2 New Hardware Ver for BE98 Pro

Oof now you got me wondering can a barometer in a router he sensitive enough to record audio

Does MLO negate DFS channel dropouts?

Ah so basically I'm asking this question too early. I found a Qualcomm whitepaper talking about MLO negating DFS channel switching latency and disconnection issues. I'm unsure if that'll be true of all Wi-Fi 7 devices or just certain Qualcomm chips. For anyone reading this in the future, it...

Why are MLO-enabled networks usually guest networks?

I had a feeling it may be this. Probably safe to assume this is the answer for now. I wonder if eventually the main SSID will have an MLO toggle instead of this virtual SSID setup

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

I know SFP+ 10gbase-t modules seem to have good compatibility. I'm having trouble finding it now but I read someone(I believe on this forum) is using an RT-BE88U with a fiber xgs-pon SFP+ module, the RT-BE88U appears to have much better compatibility than earlier routers. Not much data yet on...

Does MLO negate DFS channel dropouts?

Since the 2.4 band will remain active does that mean if the router is on a 5ghz DFS channel that the client signal won't drop out due to channel scanning and DFS channel switching? I know there are two MLO methods, one being where one band is TX and one is RX. The other being simultaneous per...
