Wired or wireless? If wireless you might want to look at the system/wireless log for radar detections (DFS).

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi, I know 5G-1 doesn't support 160mhz. But can you allow 5G-2 to connect to channels 36-64 and 5G-1 connect to 100-140. I have plenty of 80mhz gaps on 100-140 for 5G-1. And only one gap for 160mhz which is on 36-64 which is currently not accessible Or can you enable 80+80 instead? . Thanks

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

@ASUSWRT_2020 Is it possible to enable channels 36-64 for the ZenWifi AX backhaul at 160mhz? Currently it is impossible for me to run 160mhz on 100-140 due to weather radar on channel 124. Defeats the object of this system if I can't use 160mhz.

    Complain here about Tapatalk removal

I'm new here, just getting used to the layout and getting frustrated with update by email. (Email notifications still on phone screen if I don't open the email to see the post) I was wondering if you had an app to access the site and see you just binned it :D Anyway, I used to use an app to...

Asus ZenWifi AX XT8 - A two week technical review (And that 160mhz issue)

Lastly i'll just add a channel guide I found on the internet but have modified it to show the channels ASUS force us to use for front and backhaul. It would really help if they let us have 80+80 or swap front and backhaul around.

ZenWifi AX No 160mhz for backhaul

I think the clue is in the name. Turning down "Transmit" will not turn down the sensitivity on the Rx I could be wrong. But I wouldn't want to purposely reduce reception when I got these to increase performance in my house.

Asus ZenWifi AX XT8 - A two week technical review (And that 160mhz issue)

Moving on... Wireless scanners reporting 160mhz as 80mhz So, forgoing the above, as part of testing to confirm I could/could not get 160mhz working I found a lot of apps can’t display 160mhz when detecting this system and shows both router and node as 80mhz. Bad apps (May or may not be...

Asus ZenWifi AX XT8 - A two week technical review (And that 160mhz issue)

First the TL;DR 160mhz backhaul not possible in areas of UK due to weather radar on 5.625ghz. Channel 124 is 5.620ghz *See map below* This removes one of the BIG features of this product. I think it could be fixed, but will it? Fronthaul 5G-1 limited to channels 36-64 Backhaul 5G-2...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Might want to try a clean upgrade. I'm on RC4 and my wireless laptop and mobile phone can connect to my wired CCTV and NAS. Dirty upgrade from RC3. Did have issues with reconnecting every 60 seconds until I removed the node and added it back. When connecting to Guest it isolates from everything...

ZenWiFi XT8 blue light blinking on router

Funnily enough second time round I used web browser too and all was fine. I also opted out of the remote access when doing it via web too. I have done it a couple of more times since using both app and web and not had an issue, but i've also never selected the external access again too.

ZenWiFi XT8 blue light blinking on router

Correct, I had this issue when I first set it up. I just reset both and went through setup again until both went white.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Was it channel 124? If so its a weather radar. We need @ASUSWRT_2020 to allow 80+80 or to stick the backhaul on the 36-64 channels. I have the XT8's too.

I'm having this issue too. Guest devices are not appearing when connected. On RC3. Not tested todays version.

How to keep a device on main node in a dual RT-AC86U router AiMesh set up?

I don't know if it is limited to the beta, or if the beta is even available to your model. But there is a "bind" button in the AIMesh menu

    160 width channel & DFS

160mhz relates to how much information can be transmitted at once. Wifi is made up of 20mhz channels, for think of 80mhz as a 4 lane motorway and 160mhz as an 8 lane motorway. If you can enable it then it will improve things if you have a video library/NAS on your network. You may struggle to...

ZenWifi AX No 160mhz for backhaul

Aye, the family issues. I ended up connecting TV and computers direct to modem and an old RT-N66U while testing to stop getting shouts of "Have you bloody turned internet off again!" Give the different channels a go when you can, I noticed some really restricted the bandwidth. Have you tried...
