Feature Request:GUI for lets encrypt cert requests and renewal.

thanks for the link! do you have link to any articles that go deeper, i keep finding stuff like this and it seems to relate to things other than httpd http://www.pcworld.com/article/3036955/security/asus-settles-charges-over-insecure-routers-and-cloud-services.html given the detail in the FTC...

Feature Request:GUI for lets encrypt cert requests and renewal.

What do you mean proprietary? the main httpd is open source AFAIK. aiclouds is not, many of us are quite ok exposing the std httpd; same risk profile as vpn etc. but i understand if that's not acceptable in your eyes, everyones approach to risk is different. i dont think any one is advocating...

What DNS do you use with your Asus/Merlin

I assume you lived in some place we expect to see such restrictions - but WTF in belgium? What do they block?

Request - Auto Update Firmware Feature?

Agree totally those are the decision points. I was just pointing out that doesn't invalidate the request. It also doesn't mean the request should be granted. And there ARE tons of things added to merlin / exposed that not many folks use. So the not many folks argument is a weak one...

Feature Request:GUI for lets encrypt cert requests and renewal.

I agree there is a cost benefit to that that needs to be thought about. But i would argue a)the service only needs to be open for the length of time to request the cert / renew it (seconds). B) many (most?) people putting SSL cert on their ASUS router is so they can expose multiple services and...

Feature Request:GUI for lets encrypt cert requests and renewal.

Apparenltyy not - so unsure if you are asking that rhetorically or not? Though when i follow that link where am i supposed to go next? Or are you referring to the 'new features' statement of the goal. Merlin has introduced many new features, these may not have been coded by merlin but he...

    Certificate Help

yeah i get that, i once setup full MS AD with CA many years ago, but because i couldn't get a root CA cert for my root CA for anything but silly prices i decided it was just as easy to import self signed certs into the different browsers. I am hoping that letsecrypt will eventually be fully...

I also found using SCP was the quick and easy answer.

    Cant Connect AICloud

Hats off to you for squeezing all that into the router! I gave up and because I wanted a rather larger amount of storage went for a Synology NAS. Yes expensive but i haven't looked back - one of the best things i have ever purchased. Especially as now it supports docker and has its own...

Request - Auto Update Firmware Feature?

Just to be devils advocate / that guy. What's the issue if it is turned off by default - no one is saying this idea would force auto updates on people without asking / who wanted it. I have all my Windows machines auto-update all the time (heck i get new OS builds every 1 to 2 weeks auto...

Feature Request:GUI for lets encrypt cert requests and renewal.

My Synology NAS just got a UI to request and update certs. It certainly makes life simple - it only requires that the lets encrypt servers can access the machine that the cert is being generated from. It would be great to have something like this in merlin firmware.

Custom SSL cert with Merlin FW....

I did the chmod (i used WinSCP to copy the files and change the perms as i hate all that mucking about on the command line). I also note that a reboot wasn't needed and that the browser detected the new cert on the final restart_httpd I also copied my keychain.pem over too. I didn't remove the...

    Certificate Help

I like your sig - you are not wrong but that is the super complicated way to do it - especially if you are planning to use mobile devices where it is a pain to install certs and i am unclear the OP wants to go on that journey (but if he does, more power to him!). The advantage of paying the...

    Certificate Help

Ta You need to do several things. Buy a domain name Have the DNS for that domain registered with someone like noip or dyndys have the DNS entries point to your router and have ports open to the machine you want to generate the certs on then use this thread...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

Hard lock-up on 380.58 when importing a cert into the HTTPS aicloud web interface using https://myaddress:443 - is this expected / known issue. I am using a goddaddy cert that I use with my synology. I have the cert, the chain and the key all in PEM format - once uploaded the router hangs. It...

List of uPnP ports in http Main_IPTStatus_Content.asp doesn't match windows advanced settings

Because one can't edit ports on http://192.168.1.1/Main_IPTStatus_Content.asp i like to use the windows feature where one can click on the router in explorer/networking and right click porperties > settings to see the list of upnp services and delete any old orphan registrations. However i...
