    Getting Modem Stats

You are also missing netmask 255.255.255.0 from you're ifconfig command, add this and hopefully it will work for you.

    Getting Modem Stats

I had to add the sub-interface to access the modem web pages, possibly because it's running in bridged mode. Does running the ifconfig command allow access to the vigor webpage on 192.168.2.1?

    Getting Modem Stats

Can you create anything on the jffs partition at all? Have you enabled it and formatted it? I have this working with a vigor 130 modem.

    [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 Beta 2 is available

After I made a change to a client's name in the clients status pane the Internet drops off, the only way to get sky fibre back up is to apply the settings on the WAN page (option 61 was still in the field)

    [Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 Beta 2 is available

I can confirm the option 61 issue too, I need to re-enter it after a reboot to get sky fibre up again.

How to access cable modem dashboard, when it's behind router?

Hi, Did you try the sub interface setup I posted above? I had to do this to to get access to my draytek vigor 130 web interface through my ac-3200 on sky fibre vdsl. Thanks

add local DNS entries on my Asus RT-AC68U

I assume you are leaving the real IP addresses and domains for privacy? Are you seeing the internal IP addresses required when doing an nslookup/ping from all internal devices you want to use to get your internally hosted systems?

add local DNS entries on my Asus RT-AC68U

Do you get the correct internal address when doing an nslookup on your other devices? If yes the router and dns are setup correctly. I assume pinging the fqdn of host.domain.com works ok? I access my internal mail server using my ddns fqdn internally using the dns method you are trying and this...

add local DNS entries on my Asus RT-AC68U

What does a nslookup query show? I have added the local address for my ddns entry for internal resolution of services running using the same approach as you.

How to access WAN modem from LAN with different subnet mask?

Change the ip address and subnet mask to match your setup.

How to access WAN modem from LAN with different subnet mask?

Yes that should give your wan port (if it's eth0) an IP address and subnet mask on the same local network as the modem's management IP address.
  16. J

How to access WAN modem from LAN with different subnet mask?

That is correct but if the modem doesn't know how to route back to the client PCs access won't work. By adding a sub interface onto the Merlin build router wan port with the same subnet details as the management IP and subnet mask of the modem it will allow the router to nat the traffic behind...

How to access WAN modem from LAN with different subnet mask?

It depends how the modem is operating, my Vigor is a bridge and needed the sub interface setup to work. If your modem is operating in a different setup and the router isn't getting the wan address you may not need to use my method.

How to access WAN modem from LAN with different subnet mask?

Look at my approach to access my modem's web interface on this link: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/draytek-vigor-130-vdsl-wan-stats-via-router.28044/#post-223660

How to access WAN modem from LAN with different subnet mask?

Your modem will need to have a route back to your internal lan, if it doesn't know how to get back to your lan it won't work. You probably need to add a sub interface to your router on the same subnet as your modem for it to work.
