    Asus AX/AXE Slow Upload Speeds

So we have to flash a custom firmware in order to fix the wi-fi upload speed issue, since Asus won't?

    Asus AX/AXE Slow Upload Speeds

Are you saying you're having fast Wi-Fi upload speeds? If so, we'd love to see your setup in the other thread.

    Asus AX/AXE Slow Upload Speeds

Agree that WAN/LAN is fast. The issue is Wi-Fi upload speed. This thread has info about that bug. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-xt8-app-upload-speed-much-faster-than-speedtest-net.76129

    Asus AX/AXE Slow Upload Speeds

I wonder if there is a mesh router that will do 1000/1000 or close to that.

Asus XT8 app upload speed much faster than speedtest.net

Yes, FiOS is. I didn't know that. Is it only a FiOS issue?

Asus XT8 app upload speed much faster than speedtest.net

When I run the internet speed test from within the ASUS app, I get 520 Mbps download and 558 Mbps upload. I assume that's directly from the router. When I run it from my phone 15 feet away, I get 515 Mbps download and 182 Mbps upload with my 5GHz wifi. Any ideas on why the upload speed is so...

    Asus AX/AXE Slow Upload Speeds

I have the same problem. I'm on a 400/400 plan and get 498 down and 161 up.

XT8 node keeps disconnecting from mesh; firmware 9.0.0.4.386_41994

Mine was doing that due to double NAT from the Verizon combo modem/router. I found out I had double NAT when I tried to turn on DDNS. Are you on Verizon FIOS?

    XT8 Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.386.41793 - Open SSID ASUS_C0

I set my 5 GHZ-2 to hide SSID. Does anyone know whether hiding is a bad idea?

XT8 slow or no switching to node?

I followed one of the posts and changed a bunch of settings, including turning of smart connect and creating separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Seems to be better now.

XT8 slow or no switching to node?

It doesn't seem to be following the rules. My cell phone is -67 dBm and it stays connected to the node even though I set it to disconnect at -55 dBm.

    XT8 Optimal settings?

I've tried various things and can't get my WiFi speed to be the same as wired. Wired is 486/368 and WiFi is 350/222. Will switching to Asuswrt-Merlin be better?

    Definitive WiFi Settings

I also found this post from Asus support. They suggested disabling Explicit beamforming. I've made the changes in this post, including 2.4 GHz 20MHz and 5GHZ 40MHz https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-zenwifi-xt8-issues.66740/#post-623225 I will try to use your M&M post from 2015, but it...

Why should smart connect be disabled? If I disable it, do I leave everything else as default?

XT8 slow or no switching to node?

Did I go the wrong direction? When I went to my bedroom, the signal was weak (-85 dbm) and no switching to the node.

XT8 slow or no switching to node?

Thanks. I set it to -40 and will test.

XT8 slow or no switching to node?

Is there a way to get the XT8 to switch a device to the node faster? For example, when I go to the floor with the node, my phone stays connected to the router which is in the basement. I can manually turn off wife and turn it back on to get it to connect to the node.

    XT8 Optimal settings?

I'm testing with my phone. Previously with Xfinity, I was on a 600/20 plan and got 579/17.7 from my phone. However, I had to factory reset my XT8 and don't remember what changes I made. I'll have to read some old threads haha.

    XT8 Optimal settings?

Thanks, I'm on a 400/400 Verizon FIOS plan. WiFi: 359/221 standing next to the router and 269/122 standing next to the node. Wired: 494/513 to the router. Grayson
