Backhaul would be transport to the modem...fronthaul would be between nodes or from modem out. How it’s referenced in my industry anyways. Guess you could do fiber fronthaul with media converters, but makes no sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ended up re-installing last night. Initialized and restored, then set up from scratch. For good measure, did a software reboot after and seems to be working now. If it stays solid, will set node back up this weekend as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had nothing but issues with 20467...radios kept dropping out or I'd get errors stating my password wasn't valid. And did do reset/ nvram clear and set up router from scratch after upgrading from 20308.

    RT-AC5300 & FW 20379

Had similar issue with my Brother MFC 6910 (believe that's correct from memory). Airtime fairness and universal beamforming were disabled. Was connected, but couldn't find it. Reset all settings and printer, then re set up, but no luck. Reset the router, but no luck. Tried connected to node as...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.20308 for All Supported Products

Thought I'd read at some point the connection remained in case ethernet backhaul was lost. Basically just maintains a control/ pilot channel as a fallback, so will see very minimal traffic used by that link.

Looks like another update may be dropping soon....379 has been released for all other supported routers. Maybe we'll get lucky to have it before the Chinese New Year (2/16, so tomorrow in their time zone??).

It's a beta they released to someone. There is an unofficial link from a week or so ago that someone posted: https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/1B787A80695441C382A0AABB4C77F4F4Y Yes, should do a factory reset it seems after most firmware updates, especially different forks (ie 382 -> 384).

Have you performed a factory reset after update? 308 firmware should fix that issue.

    AiMesh for Tri-band routers: RT-AC5300, GT-AC5300

Yeah, guess I should've stated that was the case for the US anyways. Would be nice to see that drop once ethernet is selected so the entire channel is available for devices.

    AiMesh for Tri-band routers: RT-AC5300, GT-AC5300

I personally set it up for 80MHz (although looks like only uses 20 for backhaul) and out all devices on 5G-2 for now even though I’m set up for wired backhaul. Have you tried moving everything over to 5G-2 to clear that channel? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    AiMesh for Tri-band routers: RT-AC5300, GT-AC5300

Will always be on 5G-1 since dual band routers only have the lower band (5G-1) channels. That’s my understanding anyways. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Change log for RT-AC5300 shows the following: ASUS RT-AC5300 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.20308 Bug fix - Fixed GUI error on firmware update page. The progress bar may always appear on firmware upgrade page after installed 3.0.0.4.384.20287. If your router had this issue, you can manually...

question - those that have reverted back to router/ap (non aimesh) with current firmware, stable?

@brucemac was referring to the tri-band routers since there is one using the standard lower band 5GHz channels and another using the upper band 5GHz channel.

Is it just the mac addresses of devices getting close to roam assist RSSI thresholds? Sounds and looks like it to me... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

question - those that have reverted back to router/ap (non aimesh) with current firmware, stable?

I had 2 GT-AC5300's I reverted back to AP's on the old beta firmware and all seemed to function well. Just set channels manually to 1 being high end and 1 being low end of channel set using the same SSID and enabled roaming assist. Worked fairly well and was stable. With official firmware...
