    On-router NTP server

I noticed that the clock on the router was 3 minutes off; but on all home devices the time was accurate, despite the fact that on the router both "enable local NTP server" and "intercept local NTP requests" were enabled. So it looks like it did not intercept anything.

FlexQoS FlexQoS 1.0 - Flexible QoS Enhancement Script for Adaptive QoS

I found that it depends on the device. If I watch youtube in iOS on iPhone, the router sees it as video streaming. If in Win10 on PC, then it's "Others". Isn't it supposed to be based on DPI, thus depending on the content?

FlexQoS FlexQoS 1.0 - Flexible QoS Enhancement Script for Adaptive QoS

Watching YouTube is classified as "Others", rather than "Video and audio streaming". Is this expected? Can it be adjusted?

VPN PPTP Client does not work

Update: the problem has been resolved by unchecking "Enable DNSSEC support" on WAN/Internet Connection" page.

VPN PPTP Client does not work

Disabled, and the message about rebind attack disappeared from the log, but everything else is the same: as soon as VPN client is activated, there's no DNS resolution for the computers on the home network. It works when querying DNS server on the remote network VPN is connected to, but not by...

VPN PPTP Client does not work

VPN PPTP Client does not work When I connect to the PPTP VPN server at work from the home computer running Windows 10, everything works OK. When I connect there from the router (AC68U/384.19), having configured VPN client, the connection succeeds, but name resolution of anything from a home...

    Network Profile Name in Windows

Thanks - very interesting implementation! I wonder if Microsoft has limited this spilling the beans to the local network, in this cloud-enabled age.

    Network Profile Name in Windows

...actually, no. It was in the past, but since then there was fresh installation of Windows on this computer.

    Network Profile Name in Windows

    Yes, it has.

    Network Profile Name in Windows

Windows 10 wouldn't magically find out the name of the wireless network the router has created, being connected to the router by Ethernet. Apparently "1719" had been "told" by the router during some initial negotiation. I think it should have told HOMELAN instead.

    Network Profile Name in Windows

On a Windows computer connected to the router by Ethernet, Windows chooses the name of the network ("network profile" in Windows terms), it appears, as the name of the first wireless network on the router. This name is probably somehow being reported by the router. This process is described in...

Router's DNS does not notice changed IP address

I found the reason. There was DHCP reservation for the 1st adapter under "Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list"; once I removed it, router's dns returned new address. I wonder if this is correct behavior, given that the router did not actually assign the reserved IP address.

Router's DNS does not notice changed IP address

I re-enabled the first adapter, ran ipconfig /release wifi1 , then ipconfig /renew wifi2 . Both ran successfully, the first adapter no longer had an address, but nslookup from the router still returns the first address.

Router's DNS does not notice changed IP address

Workstation "laptop1" has 2 wireless adapters, and only one is enabled. It's connected to the router (AC68U, 384.17), with DHCP configuration, and leases IP address 192.168.1.19. nslookup laptop1 from the router correctly returns 192.168.1.19. I enable 2nd wireless adapter, which leases...

    NextDNS Installer

I tried to uninstall NextDNS from the router. Ran the script and uninstalled. After that clients fail to resolve DNS. I ran the script again, reinstalled NextDNS, and the clients started working. How to remove it?

DNS from LAN to router: "server failed"

I sent this to our Comcast Business rep and asked to forward to the parties competent enough to address it, but the reaction was not very promising - try another browser, delete cookies, and so on.
