Max throughput of 433 mbps Link rate... Achieving 330 mbps..Can we close the gap furthermore?

Hello guys, my max throughput on my Laptop on an AC wifi which is connected to a D-LINK 882 router is 330 mbps (40-41 mbps), is it possible to close the gap and achieve 383 mbps. I for the fact know that 433 mbps is only the link rate, and that includes overheads, interference etc, but is it...

    R7800 SmallNetBuilder Review

I had Asus AC68U before the Netgear R7800 X4s, and I found the range of Asus AC68U wasn't enough for my 2nd room. So i had loaded a third party firmware on it and cranked up the power to 1000mW (1 watt), while the signal got stronger, loading a website still took time. The day when Netgear...

Will 160 MHz B/W increase my throughput?

With a Powerful extender and a good 2nd router I'm able to achieve 520 mbps in 2nd room which is like 15 m away and that too concrete walls. My setup is: Hall : Netgear X4s R7800 (Main router) 1st Room: Dlink DAP 1860 extender and hard wired Dlink 882 to DAP. Since using DAP for connecting...

Will 160 MHz B/W increase my throughput?

I tried it right now, and now i'm getting around 260 mbps -280 mbps, frequently, instead of 230-250 mbps. So small improvement also counts. The Netgear R7800 X4s is indeed a powerful device minimizing speed loss across distance that too across 2-3 concrete walls in between.

Will 160 MHz B/W increase my throughput?

Thank you for an amazing write up, I have one small question to ask you. My router is placed in the Hall (R7800 X4s) and achieves a max speed upto 532 mbps & My D-Link DAP 1860 is in the Room which is 6 m away from the router. I have bought the D-link DAP 1860 4x4 MU-MIMO wifi Extender, while...

Double Nat Port forwarding (UPNP works too)

I have Finally managed to Fix this issue by using the DMZ function on the First router. Although my router is R7800, and Dlink Dir 850L is my 2nd router which is connected via Dlink DAP 1860. Solution: Adding the 2nd router's Assigned IP to 1st Router on DMZ. So basically what I did was...

Impressed by the TP-Link Archer A7

I wish I could compare both of these plug in types side by side or atleast one at time to see which extender gave better throughput for my 500 mbps connection in two of my rooms. Dlink is giving me around 250- 260 mbps speed, on both the room sometimes it reaches 280 mbps too on speed test...

Impressed by the TP-Link Archer A7

If you see, the official page of TP-Link,, they claim that RE650 Wifi-extender has a total of 14,000 sq feet of coverage, while the equivalent Netgear EX7500 has only a mere 2,500 sq feet of coverage. For MU-MIMO you need to have 4x4, correct if I'm wrong for a better signal pattern in beamforming.

Impressed by the TP-Link Archer A7

Because Enterprise-class products have better components by default and the Enterprise AP are mostly placed high above to overcome most obstacles, while consumer class products have mid-lo grade components, that said having an external antenna helps penetrate walls and other building materials...

Impressed by the TP-Link Archer A7

Don't forget, TP-Link makes some amazing Wifi extenders, while Netgear's higher end wifi extender has no external antennas while the price being super high for a plug in type wifi extender. Models like Netgear EX7300 and EX7500 wifi extender have no external antenna. Only good thing Netgear...

TP-Link RE650 vs Dlink DAP 1860 wifi extender

I created this thread for the discussion of two of the best plug in type wifi extenders which no one has directly compared yet. Has anyone tested both of these in the same environment and found any difference in range, speed and stability? Which out of the two is better for AC2600 spec? Sent...

Double Nat Port forwarding (UPNP works too)

This is a 4-year-old thread, those who have this sort of issue with Bitcomet, a simple fix was selecting an option "Closing ports on Exit"' and reconnecting to the 2nd router.

    HUACAM HCM82 8dBi Omni-directional antenna upgrade for Netgear R7800 X4s

Hello friends, I wish to do an upgrade of my stock R7800 X4s antenna to HUACAM HCM82 2X 8dBi 2.4GHz 5GHz 5.8GHz Dual Band Wireless Network WiFi RP SMA Male Antenna Do you all think it would increase the signal strength in my room, and avoid signal dropouts? Seems like a sweet spot for the...

    Doubts about R7800 Firmware / IPv6 Support

If you care about VPN such as open vpn then R7800 may not do this. If you want to use this router as a repeater mode, then again R7800 doesn't do it. NG R7800 is suited for folks who want shear speed with limited features. The best thing about this router is, that it boots in under a minute...

NETGEAR Debuts An Expensive Gaming Router

They could've redesigbed the same R7xxx series and come up with a better firmware, it's already the best selling model. Maybe they are out of numbers. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

NETGEAR Debuts An Expensive Gaming Router

No 1 buys a products which has very less reviews or a model which isn't even popular. Only few nerds would buy them. I hate the redish interface. It's too dark for my liking. Linksys has a neat blue interface and even Asus has one good looking one. Not to offend anyone. Sent from my LM-G710...
