    OpenSpeedTest as an Addon

Currently, I run an openspeedtest server on a mac connected the router via 1GbE. This has some disadvantages including the obvious network limitations. I was wondering if anyone has looked into porting this over as an entware package / amtm option to run directly on the router...

    AdGuardHome AdGuardHome New Release's 2023

If I were looking to reconfigure AGH, I would do that outside the upgrade process. That said, how about a question at the beginning, "Would you like to reconfigure AGH? (y/n)" Default is no and then it can bypass a number of the questions. Another option is to add a new menu item that is for...

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

I have successfully backed up and restored config files across model lines including RT-AC86U to RT-AX86S and RT-AX86U to GT-AX6000 with no issues. The AC --> AX was an interesting use case as I went from 386.11 to 388.2_2. Granted it was in AP only mode

    AdGuardHome AdGuardHome New Release's 2023

Thanks for the update! One feature suggestion is to make the update a bit less interactive to allow just a straight update without having to go through the Q/A each time. Another suggestion is to add defaults to options on new installs like “Do you want to install to ENTWARE” should probably...

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

Any performance improvement is perception only according to Asus. There are small gain differences in the antennas but Asus's submitted documentation on DFS, 5G, and 2G testing all have the same claims that the performance is identical...

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

Which chipset model number incremented? According to the teardown, it's the exact same chipset for 2.4 & 5G wireless. The only change was to the CPU from what I see. Also Asus published testing results stating that wireless performance is the same across all units.

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

Thanks - added the pro to Wikipedia. FWIW - same revision of the processor is used on the GT-AX6000.

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

Not sure but it took a while to decipher the tear down to extract and confirm the U and S information. The teardown seems to be missing the Pro CPU. If someone has the pro and can cat /proc/socinfo then the wiki should be able to be updated with that model since all other components should be...

    RT-AX86S vs RT-AX86U vs RT-AX86U Pro

I've spent some time scouring FCC documentation for these models (and also the GT-AX6000) and updated the wikipedia page to reflect the components used per the teardown pics Key tech differences: AX86U has 4 vs 2 core CPU, same speed at 1.8GHz AX86U includes an extra 2.5 Gbit ethernet port...

Great app! Thanks for sharing. Already went pro with it.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

I think I was experiencing this as well. You can read about it in this thread. I thought it might be my chatty roku and amazon devices + having the large oisd.nl list in place but very eerily similar where devices would go offline. Reconnects, if they’d even work, would take 5-10 mins. Often...

    AdGuardHome Adguard Home Parental Controls

Just as a follow up to this, here’s what I’ve done from a parental control perspective. On the router DHCP server settings, I’ve pinned the adults’s mac addresses to specific IP addresses. On IOS devices you’ll need to disable “private wifi address” for this to work. In AGH, once the devices...

Bookmarks? What's that? Maybe it's time I moved off Lynx ;)

    AdGuardHome Change Listening Port

Is there a way to enable only https / 443 on AGH? It'd be nice not to have to remember the port number and simply use https to access the webpage but realize AGH is likely going to not like that port and will need to supply a certificate. I would like to do this without having to enable DNS over TLS

    AdGuardHome Adguard Home Parental Controls

Thanks! For the malware and adult blocking service, the description says that it's sending a short hashed string to the service. Any privacy concerns there? This is why I was thinking about block lists like what you mentioned with https://nsfw.oisd.nl but it seems like AGH client settings...

    Asuswrt-Merlin Addon Software Catalog

Is there a tool/addon that would give you the equivalent of the System Status but over time? It would be nice to be able to view CPU/Mem over time in a nice graphical format without having to enlist something like Solarwinds, Nagios, etc.

    AdGuardHome Adguard Home Parental Controls

I've had issues with Diversion and in the process of remediation, I've temporarily switched over to AGH to compare and contrast. OOB AGH seems to do 95% of what oisd's large list does. One thing that I'm uncertain about are a couple settings related to the security web service and parental...

Diversion Diversion large list from oisd.nl crushes my GT-AX6000

Thanks! I will add that to my hosts file to cut down on the chatter and processing.

Diversion Diversion large list from oisd.nl crushes my GT-AX6000

The domains were blocked with the “medium” block list as well, but Adguard home is showing about the same with 10K block requests within 24 hours using their default block list. By sinkholing them, do you mean setting the hosts file to resolve them to 127.0.0.1 or something different? Can...

Diversion Diversion large list from oisd.nl crushes my GT-AX6000

I’m glad it’s working for you because I had to turn it back off again. DHCP assignments were taking 5+ minutes and one CPU was pegged at 100%. I tried disabling Diversion stats but didn’t seem to help. For reference I have a 18 Amazon devices and 8 Roku devices that are the two highest diversion...
