    ok after a day or 2, back to closed. enabled telnet on the admin page, back to stealth after the little reboot it did enabling the feature. at least i have telnet on the computer and enabled on the router now, for next time. just to check things i tried iptables -t nat -S | grep 1024 in putty...

    hmm, router reboot shows stealth on 1024 for a few days, then back to closed. no clue how to track this down. dang. still need to follow the great guide posted in this thread, for a clean install to see if that corrects the issue.

    latest merlin and version 3 of the fork are showing my 1024 port as closed or open, but not stealth. previous versions of merlin were shown as stealth. nothing i am aware of has changed on my end. only use samba local, no outside access granted i don't think. is a fresh factory restore and...

    nope, none of that. thanks for the info guys. did not reset factory defaults, coming from merlin. channels and passwords aren't a big deal. wasn't there a way to backup and load say Manually Assigned IP around the DHCP list stuff ??

    not using ipv6, clone was mac address clone. i did not do a full factory reset after the update. i have used merlins from day 1, factory reset when needed. never went past RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.43_0 no issues, worked great. hmm i use nothing fancy on this router, just regular lan stuff...

    hmm, tried the latest version, couldn't get an internet connection. unplug, reboot, unplug modem, clone, nothing was working. back to merlin RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.42_0 connected right away. charter, SB6120 Motorola, n66

    spindown set, drive is borked. n66 374.38_2

    see below:: RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.38_2-em and spindows was set to 0, things were working well, but the drive spun all the time. so i set spindown to 600. now the drive seems dead, on my pc it isn't seen either. no capacity or anything good seen. windows doesn't see it. win 7 disc management...

    RT-N66U + Motorola SURFboard + Charter Communications = fail

    N66 with a sb6120 working great with charter. Current firmware is Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38. 2-em It does work, never a problem here. Not sure why it does or doesn't.

    What firmware version for RT-N66U

    RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5.zip older driver in the later firmware. found in the experimental folder. you can read the sdk5 vs 6 for comparison, seems the sdk5 works better for most n66 people.

    DUAL WAN on RT-N66U

    would the "enable watchdog" feature help with the switch back ??? i have mine turned on, but my cable co is rock solid. one short outage and i was using using tethering from my phone (or was trying, works now)
