    Best $200+ dollar router?

Yes probably the home version of UTM (as the GUI will be more responsive), and I found it on ebay.com, used of course :)

    Best $200+ dollar router?

And I have purchased an Asus Blue Cave as well as a used Sophos XG 115 rev2. I'll be moving the Cave upstairs where it will be used as an access point only, and when I get the Sophos I'll probably load UTM 9 Home on it and use as my main router. I managed to find the XG 115 for about $130 USD...

IFTTT - how much do you care about security?

I don't think they've added anything useful as far as networking goes into Windows lately, in fact it's way less user friendly than Windows 7 because you have Settings + Control Panel, you can't even remove and re-add most networking items properly, unlike on Windows 7 :)

    Need Router Recommendation

Which peplink model did you get? I was looking at specs of the balance 20 and it seems it can only do 100 mbit throughput,- I wouldn't need wifi on mine ...

IFTTT - how much do you care about security?

It's an easy way to make Windows IPSEC VPN compatible, too bad it's not enabled out of box, like IOS and MacOS :)

IFTTT - how much do you care about security?

Looks like it can push some nice speeds! I just checked the demo interface (http://demoui.asus.com/Advanced_VPN_PPTP.asp) and like you said IPSEC is there so clients like IOS can access without 3rd party programs, but unfortunately because there's no support for L2TP, windows will not work out...

    Need Router Recommendation

Did you ever get the RV340W L2TP/IPSEC going using the instructions posted: https://supportforums.cisco.com/t5/...l2tp/td-p/3012017/page/2?attachment-id=126058 Also, you could look into appliances from Sophos, as you can install the free home firewall edition on them. I'm looking into one...

    Best $200+ dollar router?

How about Sophos Home firewall products ? They seem recommended by a lot of people, you can run on your own hardware or get an appliance and load the home edition on it for free ...

IFTTT - how much do you care about security?

Thank you, very helpful to know, do you know the approx. performance of L2TP/IPSEC on an AC86U ? PS: It's strange nobody mentioned that the AC86U supports the L2TP server when I asked under 'Buying Advice', titled 'Wireless Router with L2TP Server?' :) I guess this server was added since Nov...

IFTTT - how much do you care about security?

Hmm, i thought only the BRT-AC828 had support for that ... Is that on OEM firmware, and you know which models support that feature ?

    Best $200+ dollar router?

Try cloning your wan mac id, and set it to something random, then from your IOS device using 2.4 ghz at about a signal of -65db (from 30 feet ..?) try using the official google youtube app by watching some videos. I've tried 2 different rt2600ac so it was not isolated to just mine,- you should...

    RT 2600AC wireless printer wizard

Good luck getting that function to work, I couldn't when I had my rt2600ac, and support says it's no longer under development so new printers won't be added :)

    Have anyone tried Asus RT-AX88U?

Yeah for sure, and rt2600ac is Qualcomm.

Blue Cave PPA off with wan mac cloning ?!?

Does anyone know if there’s a technical reason why PPA gets turned off, And reverts to being handled by software when WAN mac cloning is enabled ? I find that strange ...

    Have anyone tried Asus RT-AX88U?

My previous router, synology rt2600ac, was updated to support wpa3 a few weeks ago actually, so asus dropped the ball on that one :)

    Best $200+ dollar router?

I used to have the rt2600ac and i recommend the product itself and support, however i don’t recommend the wireless performance with IOS devices... I’ve even paid to get an rma unit just to confirm i didn’t have a broken unit, and it wasn’t. The new firmware broke wan mac cloning and previous...

    Wireless Router with L2TP Server?

Sounds good,- so keeping in my that I will move my "blue cave" to be access point only, what would you recommend for a not too expensive ($150) router that has l2tp/ipsec ? I know D-link routers have that functionality but I don't need wireless, so possibly a ubiquity edge router?

ASUS Blue Cave AC2600 Dual-Band Wireless Router Reviewed

I found a BIG issue with my blue cave ... "NAT traffic is processed by CPU" when WAN Mac is cloned, "PPA (Protocol Processing Accelerator) is enabled" with cloning disabled. I hope this can be fixed with a firmware upgrade!

    Wireless Router with L2TP Server?

Whether the EA9500 is bug and exploit free is debatable ... Asus releases updates not only to patch exploits but also to add new features, AiMesh, etc., and there seems to be quite a few people switching away from high end Linksys products because of no updates. We can only guess the EA9500...
