Tempmon.sh script not logging to syslog

Not tempmon.sh.... My script uses the command 'logger' to send messages to the log. I cobbled a fix for your issue by directly writing to the syslog. I've never used scribe and unsure how it substitutes itself for the default logging..... hopefully someone with more knowledge can help...

Tempmon.sh script not logging to syslog

Thats why you're the guru;) (my presumption was syslog-ng supplemented its own logger process) Is a user able to manually kill the process? maybe his isnt running?

Tempmon.sh script not logging to syslog

Was quite literally just about to post the same query. I thought the logger command was part of syslog-ng Im at work (shh dont tell anyone Im doggin it) didnt have time to really research and just cobbled a 'workaround'

Tempmon.sh script not logging to syslog

Bah, forgot to quote the date, at least the rest of the output made it to the log! Sorry, made a fix to github, should prefix the date/time now in the logged messages

Tempmon.sh script not logging to syslog

Sorry... updated tempmon on github with an alternate logging method if scribe is present.... give it a try and report back

    Router temperatures

I regret not taking a depth gauge and taking a measurement, maybe someone can measure theirs and post it up. The fact this is shimming an exposed die means you need even consistent mounting pressure to mitigate 'hot spots' on the die. Personally I think its slightly over 2mm, I didnt sand that...

    Router temperatures

Unless someone is going to spreadsheet router models/average temps/ambients/percieved air flows/# lanclients/avg throughput and importantly CFE versions this thread will be going in circles. 86u mod HND CPU temp monitoring

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

Sorry, Ill just mention again as well, everything about wicens is untested on this fork. If you end up trying out the script calling feature let me know please if it worked or not for you.

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

Option S within wicens will let you input your own script to be called on a WAN IP change if you dont go the DDNS through GUI route like John mentioned

    ntpMerlin ntpMerlin v3.x

I've been holding my face against the monitor with a JackYaz github page open but osmosis isnt working ;) Ill learn the addons API here at some point and will look at doing something as I see theres plenty of stats lovers, don't hold your breath for anytime in the near future

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

If wicens is working for you now its not coded to reference any cert

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

Yay  The old Merlin wiki noted the Equifax certificate was required but in my testing something changed over the years and I found the Equifax certificate is no longer reqd. It used to be a part of my script but I depreciated it. I was worried whatever sendmail used for a cert wasnt part...

    ntpMerlin ntpMerlin v3.x

(shameless plug) You could install tempmon and reference the logged temp from syslog vs the logged drift

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

@diamuxin I made the changes to my script to accommodate the changes made by John to his firmware, you can install 48D3 and download wicens v1.12 from github I wont be able to test it myself just yet so Im at your mercy

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

Wow John... you're amazing, if anything your willingness to go above and beyond (in my opinion) has reinvigorated me to get back behind the keyboard. I won't be able to put in some consistent seat time for a bit but Ill look at adding 374LTS support to wicens and the request from maghuro on...

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

Doh, my bad. At work right now, must have scrolled by the other change. In testing on my N66 back in the day I was trying gettunnelip (didnt know about getextip) on your fork which did return my WAN IP but I think if someone is running a VPN this would show the VPN IP correct?

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

John looks like you removed the function export to the temp file which is where current_wan_ip is set from Edit: Its exported to a temp file as in testing if setting current_wan_ip=$(F_getrealip) the 5 sec wait watcher for the stun lookup is borked and doesnt kill hung lookups

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 48E7

@john9527 @diamuxin forking to Johns LTS was on a list of things to do but never saw an explicit request so I never got around to it, if there's success for users using Johns modified version Ill look at merging Johns edit to my github version wicens was written to be a guided user entry...

accessing second router behind first router

So is @L&LD on vacation? I thought for sure Id see a post about doing a M&M config in here  Just goes to show, sometimes if its working for others its generally your config thats broken and starting from scratch can help rule out issues.... after all my sketchy advice given, Im glad you...

accessing second router behind first router

Noob observation.... I see DNSFILTER in the iptables of R2.... are you using the DNS filter in parental controls? -A PREROUTING -s 192.168.98.0/24 -p udp -m udp --dport 53 -j DNSFILTER -A PREROUTING -s 192.168.98.0/24 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 53 -j DNSFILTER Is there any other custom...
