    we don't know what apps you run, but if they included diversion + skynet, you may need to run diversion in an ssh session to get it's files to sync with skynet better. a few updates ago i had a similar high cpu% issue on a ac3100, and that's what fixed it for me.

    put parental control software on the client if you have to deal with a user who knows how to modify windows firewall, hosts file or use a vpn client to circumvent your intended blocks.

    understood, i hadn't realized asus had not put out more security patches since august, and that merlin had caught up with the december security update so quickly, thanks :cool: i'll just have to set aside extra time on the off chance i'll have to rebuild all over again.

    if the asus code since 384.9.x has this reporting issue, then why bother updating past 384.8_2 ? i mean everything else i use on my ac3100 seems to be working fine.

    i'm afraid to upgrade. last time i did it dirty, it was a mess and i had to do a clean one and start all over again from a factory reset. i have too many fixed lan ip entries and lan qos entries to have to retype them all over again :oops: if anyone has advice on how to do a dirty upgrade...

    despite being a data hoarder, i keep all my partitions at 2tb and try to folder nest any file collection over 250 entries. because i know from experience even the latest soft versions can struggle dealing with what should be legacy limitations.
