Remote logging is killing my Asus RT-AC5300?

I don't have much experience with remote logging on home routers. But yesterday, I enabled remote logging on my Asus RT-AC5300 running Merlin 380.63_2 and it seems to be killing my routers performance? Not only did my friends begin to have packet loss on my Teamspeak Server, but I also started...

    Apple Exiting Wi-Fi Router Biz

Hasn't Apple been using Murata in the MacBook's, iPad's and iPhone's for some time now? From what I can gather they all are Broadcom spec/SoC's/chips? Isn't Murata simply a manufacturer of NIC's that Apple uses, they don't actually do / offer their own chips themselves? They get everything...

    Apple Exiting Wi-Fi Router Biz

This doesn't surprise me. Seems like Apple is "doubling down" on iOS for whatever it's worth. The new Mac's, though nice have some rather awkward choices behind them. Apple seems to drop the Mac Pro, Mac mini, now the AirPort line-up etc.. If it doesn't have anything directly to do with iOS...

    Apple Home Reviewed

I don't have many "Smart Home" devices, all I've got is Philips Hue. I went ahead and switched out the Hue-app with the Apple Home-app. First of I have to admit that in my case, the "ease of setup" was rather horrendous. I had a really, really hard time getting the Home-app to actually...

SPONSORED: Don't Get Caught In The Wireless Mesh

Shouldn't be much of a issue if you are living in house. Especially with 5.0GHz you should not be interfering with neighbours all that much, if at all. When living in a apartment building / complex on the other hand things might start to become messy if every is about to start trashing a lot of...

Upgrade from Ac68u to AC5300 worth it?

To put it simple; There is one advantage with the RT-AC5300U over RT-AC68U and that's Tri-Band/Smart Connect. I own RT-N66U, RT-AC66U, RT-AC68U and RT-AC5300U and I have also owned RT-AC3200. In terms of range they are all pretty much the same in my experience. I would actually give the edge to...

Broadcom Latest 4x4 Radio Ups On Range and Efficiency

That might be. It still sounds like customers like me that have already gotten the RT-AC5300 might get stuck in a loop-hole?

Broadcom Latest 4x4 Radio Ups On Range and Efficiency

So they admit that their first wave of 4x4 has been a complete mess that cannot be fixed by software/firmware? It almost sounds to me like they should be replacing existing 4x4 routers for free....

Asus RT-N66U replacement, need something with decent OpenVPN stability and performance

He will be getting the RT-AC68, seems like the safest bet and the price for the RT-AC68U isn't all the bad.

Asus RT-N66U replacement, need something with decent OpenVPN stability and performance

I have no real clue whether I will get getting the new revision of RT-AC68U or not as my supplier does not list revisions on hardware. But the Asus RT-AC87U isn't that much more expensive, but I remember when I had the RT-AC87U a while back and the 5.0GHz radio didn't play well with my devices...

Asus RT-N66U replacement, need something with decent OpenVPN stability and performance

I need to replace a defective Asus RT-N66U for a friend of mine. He is looking for something that is better in terms of OpenVPN stability and performance. He was running Asus Merlin 380.61 firmware on it before it went completely dead on him. He's on a 500/20mbit coax connection and was using...

Asus routers, access points and repeaters. How to get some successful wireless roaming working?

Greetings fellow forum members! I'm currently trying to wrap my head around how to get a good wireless roaming solution going using Asus wireless products. This is mostly for my work location, where we have a complete absent IT-department, but as a Asus retailer we are able to grab ourselves...

Asus RT-AC68U and horrible 802.11ac range?

Seems awkward that there would be something wrong with the antennas? It's the same thing on two iPhone 6S's, two iPad Air 2's and two MacBook 12-inch models. And it's the same with both RT-AC66U and RT-AC68U.

Asus RT-AC68U and horrible 802.11ac range?

Greetings, I'm having some issues with the 802.11ac range from my Asus RT-AC68U. It's currently running Merlin 380.59, but I've also tried with 380.58, 380.57 as well as the two latest Asus firmware's and the end result is pretty much the same. My problem is quite simple. The wireless...

Small Business and schools? I'm still tempted, but getting more and more sceptical by the minute.

new ASUS BRT-AC828 ( Wireless-AC2600 Dual WAN VPN Router)

Might be interesting. I'm really eager to see the software/firmware of this thing. Being a business-branded model could prove to be both good and bad in terms of features and whatnot.

new ASUS BRT-AC828 ( Wireless-AC2600 Dual WAN VPN Router)

Is that a good thing? I haven't really had any experience with anything Atheros (Qualcomm) based since the 802.11n days. The model-name seems rather confusing, not following any of the current ones? And the small portion of information sounds more like some description of art and not a router.
