How can I do this.. Router VPN Client to Server 2

You need to add the rule to the VPN client 2 not the VPN server. I don't use server 2 but I route in VPN director under VPN client 1 10.8.0.0/24 which is the subnet the VPN server 1 assigns to clients connecting. Also under basic configuration for server you select both (WAN & LAN).

    Network security from kids

Good idea but I doubt the junior would be satisfied with speed. I am going on a short term project and need/want Internet service on my laptop. Best speed I can get using my Iphone 14 in hotspot mode is 1 Mbps downloads and makes no difference if I tether the phone to the laptop or use WiFi...

Speed for second router in LAN got capped in half

I run an R7000 double NATed behind by AX86S and with CTF disabled it would only get speeds in the 350 - 450 Mbps. With it enabled get close to the theoretical 960 Mbps. Check in the miscellaneous setting tab that CTF is enabled. Be sure if you are using any of the traffic monitoring options...

    Network security from kids

Put him on him on his own router and double NAT your router and network behind it as the second router in the string and do not permit access to the routers admin pages from the WAN. Assuming the first router has gigabit LAN ports there will be little or no impact on your grown ups only...

    Wi-Fi to LAN converter recommendations?

If you have a spare or previously used AC router set it up as a media bridge and then let it make the connection. Will probably work better than a piece of equipment sold for this function as it will have better radios and bigger antennas.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

That fixed the problem. Thank you and to everyone that contributed to the solution. I tried several variations of the exclusion file and nothing seemed to scale down the file size. Just worked better when I moved the backup to another USB. Didn't setup with NAS as I only use NAS for...

    VPNMON VPNMON-R2 v2.65 -Jan 27, 2024- DISCONTINUED - Upgrade to VPNMON-R3 Available! (#3)

The only thing I have noticed with VPMON-R3 is that my VPN tunnels seem to reset more often after you added function to adjust Ping Max to trigger a reset. I initially set the reset to 2X the length of the ping to of the most distant server. When this seemed to be resulting in more frequent...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

OK Based on everyone's comments I am now backing up the SSD to another location which solves the long backup time. Hadn't really noticed the issue previously as backup ran late at night. Emails still have verbose header as I'm still running 1.5.2.b1.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

I have a 256 GB SSD attached on the router's USB 3 port. Got the drive for $15 which is only reason I have a drive that big. I have all the recommended exclusions in the exclusion file. Only things on SSD are scripts and swap file (excluded). I have played around with exclusion file and...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

The only thing I can see is different is the time it takes for backupmon to run. Even with an exclusion file the process takes several hours to complete. I don't know when the email program gets called and if it is sitting there for several hours waiting for the results to report and in the...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

Interesting. GMX account doesn't generate this header when run from other amtm applications, or when I have other IoT devices that send emails when some event triggers a notification email. I will just ignore as I only reported it to help debugging beta version.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

I am running I am running Merlin 386.6 on the router, sending using a free email account from GMX to my Gmail account. My PC is running Windows 10 and is where I check the email.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

Here are two examples. Test mail from amtm is just fine. Backupmon again creates a verbose email. Greetings from amtm 4.3 This is a testmail. Very truly yours, Your AX86-Main router (Model type RT-AX86S) Date/Time: Feb 12 2024 14:06:55 Asus Router Model: RT-AX86S Firmware/Build...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

I ran a test backup and while it worked and I received the email notification the message was overly verbose. The original test email was normal and other emails I get from the router have never included this cryptic message. Don't know if it is something specific to this script or the amtm...

amtm amtm 4.9 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, June 30, 2024 (locked thread)

Thanks. The change in amtm now lets VPMON-R3 start from within amtm when it had previously been installed manually.

amtm amtm 4.9 - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu, June 30, 2024 (locked thread)

I was running VPMON-R3 latest version and after updating AMTM the option now shows in AMTM but I can't get it to run VPMON from AMTM. Still have to exit AMTM and start VPMON-R3 with "sh /jffs/scripts/vpnmon-r3.sh" at command line. Tried updating entware dependencies and still won't start.

Testing Cat6 in the new home network

The cable will need to be terminated at both ends before you can test. If not terminated then check for sharp bends, damage to the jacket and staples or other retention devices that are to tight. When terminated first test using a simple continuity tester that will check continuity and correct...
