AP Mode- 3.0.0.4.220.18 (Merlin build) - Client Staus List

Howdy, If you want to be creative, you can make it all work. Take away router control from the cradlepoint. Have both as DHCP routers, set the ASUS dhcp server to let the flow in the same subnet as the cradlepoint so the asus then has the ability to hand out dhcp ip to the guest network, then...

AP Mode- 3.0.0.4.220.18 (Merlin build) - Client Staus List

Howdy, The Asus RT-N66U is a good router. All the items work when it acts as a router. When you use it in Access Point mode, you defeat a lot of the options. You can not have a guest network option when its in access point mode. It needs to be the router for this function to work. The network...

    Want to upgrade WNDR3700, N66U vs WNDR4500 vs EA4500

Howdy, at least you understood my dig, you have at least researched and understand the situation. The same thing goes for access points and bridges, from same manufacturer always works better than from multiple vendors. I am bias, I have the Asus RT-N66U working great here.

Howdy, Try contacting apple and have them fix your mac. As others have stated, the WNDR3700 does have good signal range.

Looking for guidance on DIY wireless range extension on LARGE property

Howdy, without knowing the terrain, and how heavily wooded the path is... you could always try the outdoor rated CMX CAT5E cable. just remember the theoretical distance for network runs are 100 meters. (about 328ft)

    300 Ft Commercial Property

Howdy, Look in the yellow pages and have someone do it for you. You will need some type of DHCP server, so that means a type of router after the cable modem unless it has one built in. You will need some cat5e cable, you will need a power plug to plug the POE injector into for the bridge...

    RT-N66U official firmware 3.0.0.3_162

Howdy, First it sounds like your not understanding what DynDNS does with what local ip addressing does. The DynDNS will get you back to your dynamic assigned ip address. That is all. The router is the item which you then need to configure to give up the tcp ports to another location behind your...

7000 sq ft house - wifi and no cat5

Howdy, You need to setup the router properly first. the wifi 2.4ghz is showing 216 becuase you do not have the channel set wide. Since the asus router is newer than the older routers, they came up with some bright idea about friendly neighbor settings and only using 20mhz bandwidth. Use...

Suggestions for small but powerful 4-8 port PoE switch for home use?

Howdy, I have found the Trendnet POE switches are the best bang for the buck. 8 ports total, 4 POE ports Older model. TPE-S44 A newer model should be out soon. They have updated the POE ports to the new standard of POE+ The POE+ standard gives you 30 watts per ports. This will run the newer...

    port 80 hell

Howdy, That is standard practice for an advanced router with features such as ftp server. The same thing applies to the asuscomm.com DDNS setup. Here is some information from asus support port forwarding Static IP assigned to server, forward tcp port 80 to that ip. done

    RT-N66U, another beta firmware: 3.0.0.3_155

Howdy, Firmware updates should be done via hard wired computer. The NVRAM should be cleared. You should start fresh and punch in all settings. Never upload a configuration. This is where things might get screwy with your router, needing a factory reset and then your entering all your...

Asuswrt-Merlin - custom build of the Asus RT-N66U firmware

Howdy Richto, Really? IMHO RMerlin should leave it alone. He is not trying to make a super custom firmware. He is working with factory settings and making fixes.

Access point upgrade needed, with a few requirements

Howdy, The preferred method would be after patch panel, the poe injector, then a straight run to the poe device.
