    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

@gspannu @Clark Griswald See here: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/adguardhome-vs-diversion-some-basics.78332/ (still not the prettiest, but it's what I had time to write up.

AdGuardHome AdGuardHome vs Diversion - some basics

Here are some basic comparisons I made between AGH (with abp.oisd and with dbl.oisd+mmotti filters) and Diversion on an Asus RT-AX86U with Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5_2 Methodology: I did a fresh install and update of the router (clean flash / reset to defaults after flash) and installed either...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

I may not be the only one who suspects a memory leak somewhere: https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardHome/issues/4437

    AdGuardHome Pixelserv-tls Your AdGuardHome

FWIW with pixelserv-tls just sitting idle (not being directed to) it is using basically zero CPU, so I would say there's nothing that should be happening at idle with CPU usage.

Is there any way to see connections between local devices? (specifically a wifi2ghz to a wifi5ghz?)

I fear the answer is no, but I will ask... Is there any way to see if a device is connecting via LAN to another device on LAN (versus, say, out to the internet and back?, which I guess would end up being a loopback on the WAN interface?) - Oh and also I can't access netstat on the devices...

    AdGuardHome AdGuardHome + Diversion's pixelserv-tls

Right I relize they overlap. I just wasn't sure if the extended functionality of Diversion's YT ad blocking was in something @thelonelycoder did with pixelserv-tls so then i could leverage it, or if it was something internal to the Diversion script.

Not sure thats possible on androidTV / ShieldTV

    AdGuardHome Pixelserv-tls Your AdGuardHome

FWIW I followed the instructions in the OP here and it worked fine. However, the Peacock TV service (NBC) does not play nice with pixelserv-tls. It seems to know we're spoofing their ads and it comes up with an error that we "should use a more secure device". When I switch AGH back to default...

    AdGuardHome AdGuardHome + Diversion's pixelserv-tls

Will directing AdGuardHome to the pixelserv-tls instance installed by Diversion enable youtube ad blocking? I'm also wondering if this will make certain streaming platforms "just work" better without having to unblock things (seems, for instance, Paramount+ knows when ads are blocked and decides...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Thanks for this info. I'll look into it when I have the chance. Per the other post I just made, I guess my concern is that AGH mem usage just grows and grows with time but never seems to drop which you might expect in some sort of cleanup or optimization situation. I'll try to come up with a...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Right I mean I know how Linux works in this regard. Not my first rodeo so to speak. And no, no negative effects yet. What worries me I guess is that the mem usage grows with time and so far on my sporadic checks doesn't seem to ever go down (as you might expect if, for example AGH periodically...

I already unchecked in the config page.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

I do have it. My cache pie piece is larger than yours. When I was at 99% overall usage, the culprit was by far AGH. Going to keep an eye on it.

Soon as I have the info formatted better.

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

OK I have some comparison numbers I'll make a new thread for (between diversion and a few different AGH setups/configs).... but before I go there... When I start AGH after a reboot, mem usage overall on the router (ax86u) sits around 62%. A day or two later I've seen total mem usage go up to...

    UPnP - enable per device?

Thanks. Just what I was looking for.

    UPnP - enable per device?

I'm in the process of moving (back) from a homebrew pfsense router to an RT-AX86U with Asuswrt-Merlin (went the other way because my older RT-AC3200 didn't have the horsepower to do firewalling/filtering and still serve up my gigabit fiber connection at full speed... also for fun?). So far the...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

This was my next question This was actually my next question. At the very least I don't think they could share a white list the way skynet and diversion do.
  19. E

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Again, if we're getting way to far off topic here, I apologize. Does AGH also have the functionality of skynet?

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Did anyone ever take a swing at this? I guess I'm trying to decide between the two (or would layering both be a good idea? Too much strain on the router?) The important items are probably performance, system impact (RAM usage, cpu usage, etc), features (I've seen the adguard home vs. pi hole...
