    Optimize client connection

Is there a script to automatically "optimize" client connection upon reboot of AiMesh network. The clients have a button next to them to manually optimize each client. But I would like a script to automate this for all clients. tia

    AP v AiMesh?

It's not a matter of choice but rather objective, correct, accurate information which I'll take wherever I can find it.

    AP v AiMesh?

That's why I was checking with the "experts" here

    AP v AiMesh?

Claude AI said AiMesh is better. Who/what to believe? 😂 I'm putting it back to AiMesh

    AP v AiMesh?

Thank you for your informed comments, that's what I was looking for. I had main/node same settings for channel and bandwidth and do also for AP mode. I don't use "Smart Connect" and have separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Most of my clients are on 5GHz and I've read that WiFi Agile Multiband...

    AP v AiMesh?

I've been running the node in AP mode for a couple of hours and it seems slightly better connectivity (bars) and throughput (tx/rx). Maybe that's the giveup of Aimesh constant communication? System seems a little more stable too. Also I used to have to force link clients to specific node...

    AP v AiMesh?

Ok thanks. Just trying to figure out which setup I should use and if there's an objective reason why. It seems Chat says there's less overhead with AP.

    AP v AiMesh?

Is it correct that there is more overhead in Aimesh with the routers communicating than in AP mode? That seems like a benefit to AP mode right there. Here is the rest of what ChatGPT said... You said: setting the node as AP as opposed to mesh node is better? Why? ChatGPT said: ChatGPT Using...

    AP v AiMesh?

I read it. About 1/2 say AiMesh is better because it uses the same SSID. But when I put node in AP mode I did the same SSID and things are fine. Still am confused as to why people say AiMesh is better. AP seems better. I have ethernet backhaul via MoCA. Wondering if I should switch back to...

    AP v AiMesh?

Sorry, I did search but this one didn't come up. Thanks

    AP v AiMesh?

It gave me a list of reasons such as less overhead communicating the AiMesh stuff but I was wondering from the "experts" on here and if anybody has an opinion on it. Why would ASUS even have that functionality if AP mode is better?

    AP v AiMesh?

I have GT-AX6000 as main router and RT-AX58U as node (connected via MoCA ethernet). I had it setup in AiMesh. I checked with ChatGPT and asked best optimization configuration and it suggested to put the RT-AX58U in "AP" mode. I did that and it seems to be better. What is the difference...

    Unbound YouTube Ad Blocker

Ok thanks. Doesn't seem to block any ads here.

    Unbound YouTube Ad Blocker

Yes, thinking about YT premium. I use adblock on browsers but this is for TCL/Roku TVs. Where do I request to remove that function? Thanks

    Unbound YouTube Ad Blocker

I enabled YouTube Ad Blocker in unbound but still seeing ads. Does it work or do I have to enable other settings? I've seen some comments that it's not possible to block YT ads through dns because they have their own servers(?). If it doesn't work, why not remove this functionality so there's...

Switch from Cable WAN to Fiber WAN

Thanks. Years ago Verizon (became Frontier) installed an ONT in our garage but we never subscribed to their service. I don't know if it's still viable but that's where they'll probably put it. I was wondering if I can hook up the ONT to the existing cable and have MoCA capture the signal to...

Switch from Cable WAN to Fiber WAN

I'm thinking about switching from Spectrum cable WAN to Frontier DSL/Fiber WAN. Any pros/cons? Spectrum is a pia and their cost is more but signal is stable. I've read Fiber is different technology and I may have to run an ethernet line from ONT to router(?). Currently have house wired with...

    Knot Resolver vs unbound?

I no longer rely on external resolver for DNS. My router is my resolver. Privacy

    Knot Resolver vs unbound?

How do I use that? My understanding is it's just a caching forwarder, not a recursive resolver.

    Knot Resolver vs unbound?

unbound has been working great for me. Learned big lesson lately -- if it isn't broken don't fix it!
