    Router bricked

I always register all electronics as soon as I get them. I like Amazon for that too.

    Router bricked

I had registered the unit when I bought it so when I called they had a record of it. They asked me to do a hard reset and I told them I had done that 100 times. They emailed me FedEx shipping (free) and I sent it. Florida to California so it took a while. It updates status on their RMA page...

    Skynet Logging level

What log level for "Default message log level" and "Log only messages more urgent than" should I set for Skynet (I also use Diversion) in System Log: General Log?

    Logging

Sorry if this has been asked before. Did a search but didn't see it. What process is built in to the firmware to limit the growth/size of logs (sys logs etc.)? Does Asuswrt-Merlin implement "log rotation"? I have GT-AX6000 and don't want to blow out storage/RAM/NVRAM(?). Should I be saving...

Yup, it took about 2 weeks round trip but worth it. I was expecting refurb too.

They actually sent me a new one. In new box and shrink-wrap etc.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

Ok, that has the same processor and RAM as the 88U. I might just keep the RT-AX58U as only router. It seems to be working fine.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

Thanks for responding. No VPN. Good thing I had an RT-AX58U in mesh. Moved that over to main and its running 3004.388.8 just fine (knock on wood!). Almost freaked out though. Was configuring it and lights wouldn't come on on reboot. Thought I bricked that one too but turns out the power strip...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

"very hard to brick these routers". That's what I thought, but I seem to have found a way to do it. Tried every reset method and no luck. Going to contact ASUS.

    Router bricked

Yes I'm going to contact ASUS. Tried the suggestions in the link. First part is the same as bbunge suggested (power light just stays lit). Second part doesn't work either as it's not in factory mode (again power light just stays lit).

Tried that. Power light just stays on and never goes off.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8_2 is now available

I used GT-AX6000_3004_388.8_0_nand_squashfs.pkgtb. Is that what bricked it?

    Router bricked

Upgraded to Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.8 on GT-AX6000. Was working fine, checked several settings. Was going to reset to factory defaults but decided to unplug and plug in again and no response (red ROG light and power light on). Tried method 1 (hold reset while powering on) and method 2 (hold WPS...
