    Unbound unbound/WAN settings

How do I use the built-in Dnsmasq? Do I just set a DNS provider in WAN and Dnsmasq is the cache? Thanks

    Unbound unbound/WAN settings

How did you get the charts to work? What settings/config? Thanks

    Unbound unbound/WAN settings

You have answered a lot of my questions with good information. Do you use unbound? If not, why not and what DNS server do you use? Thanks

    Unbound unbound/WAN settings

When I went to "Advanced Options" I was going to enable DoT but unbound said "Warning: This will DISABLE being able to be your own trusted Recursive DNS Resolver". So I guess DoT is not supported along with recursive DNS resolver?

    Unbound unbound/WAN settings

I used to have Cloudfare set in WAN DNS Setting along with DNS over TLS. But now I installed "unbound" thinking I'd rather have local DNS and it had me disable some settings. I'm not sure how to configure WAN now, do I just set it to ISP? When I try to enter Cloudfare or any other it just...

    Solved Speed test

Ok thanks, everything seems fine enough. I'm on cable modem but thinking about switching to Frontier fiber 1gbps.

    Solved Speed test

When I run on speedtest.net which is server+3 I get ~560mbps and I'm paying for 500mbps. My ISP says they add some as a buffer. This is what I've always used and how I caught the above error (not reinitializing settings) but I'm wondering if they're fooling me as the other sites (and even that...

    Solved Speed test

Thanks. So how do I know my ISP is giving me the speed I'm paying for?

    Solved Speed test

Just as an aside and for my info, why do I find vastly different speed test results from different websites (speedtest.net, fast.com etc.)? speedtest.net comes closest to what my ISP (spectrum) says I should have but none of the others do. Also when I test speedtest.net it selects the nearest...

    Solved Speed test

I figured it out. Didn't initialize and reset to factory defaults after update as everybody always says here.

    Solved Speed test

I have the GT-AX6000 with latest Merlin fw. I have Spectrum 3.1 DOCSIS 500mbps connection. When I run speedtest in router (game acceleration: internet speed) and Windows speedtest.net directly connected to the modem (ethernet direct connection) I get about 560mbps on both but when I run...

    You're right, sorry.

    160MHz

I removed the node and set Channel Bandwidth to 160MHz but that only allows auto control channel. Devices seem to be running smooth although only 1-2 bars on most of them. When I look at System Log: Wireless Log, most devices are connected at 80MHz (I only have 1 AX device). Should I set...

    I'll try that, thanks.

Which refurbished AX router do you recommend? I see ASUS RT-AX58U Dual Band WIFI Router (RT-AX3000) (Renewed) for $85.

    160MHz

Ok, those are the only channels it offers @ 80MHz so I'll just let it auto decide. It seems to like 48.

I put on 80MHz with auto channel and it seems to be pretty good. I will monitor for a while. Thanks
