RT-AC3200 running merlin fw 384.13 - NAT acceleration

To answer a few questions - Yes I am using docsis (3.0 currently, should be 3.1 soon).- DHCP - turning off privacy was a good idea. It made no difference to overall speeds though - nor did a full factory reset (suggesting the router isn't the limitation) - can't get that close to 1Gbps...

RT-AC3200 running merlin fw 384.13 - NAT acceleration

I've been happily use my RT-AC3200 to get speeds up to around 380 Mbps. I've just acquired a 1 Gbps (down - sadly up only 50 Mbps) connection and was intrigued to see how well the 3200 will cope. I'm able to get 700-800 Mbps (wired & 5 Ghz real close) even with SPI, port forwarding, vpn...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.12 Beta is now available

RT-AC3200 working well here with full speed (380 Mbps) on both 5 Ghz-1 and 5 Ghz-2. LEDs also now working correctly (2 minor issues during the alpha). Thanks!

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Funny you mention that. Though my LEDs are disabled in the settings, they are active. When you think you've addressed any 382 funnies I'd be happy to test any build/alpha etc. Also as a sw dev I can build/debug with some tips if needed (just rarely enough time!) Your work is much appreciated...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

It's only my 5Ghz-2 that's crippled -- actually I rarely use 2.4. Have set to USB3 but did try USB2 for a test - no difference . Always good to share ideas though . thanks. (and refer I think to merlin's latest reply)

If you think that could explain the AC3200 issues that's great to hear! Just wanted to check there wasn't something missed and feed back :-)

A further update on the AC-3200 regression. I've gone through checking different 5Ghz-2 channels again, and pretty much changed every single advanced wireless setting, and I cannot regain normal speeds on 5Ghz-2. I'm not sure I have the bandwidth to try stock firmware currently. Any other...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Yes it seems to be 5-2 only. I did try manual or a few channels, but didnt notice any difference. All the channel options for 5-2 are DFS in Europe. I'll experiment some more with the wifi settings on 5-2 to see if I can determine more precisely where the flaw is .... I presume new broadcom...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Earlier I posted that I saw a performance regression between the original alpha 1 (g2) and alpha 1a (g4). Since then I've done a few more tests The symptom was significantly lower downloads from ISP - down from around 380 Mbps to 150 Mbps * I did a full factory reset - zero customizations...

[384.12_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I have a Vigin media 350/35 service which is actually provisioned closer to 400/38, and typical max speeds are around 382/36. I have a virgin media SH3 in modem mode. I installed the initial alpha1 (May 18, g40c9e42009) soon after it was published on my RT-AC3200 and it's been working well...

    DNS - use router?

Hi, I currently have my upstream DNS (WAN) set to google ie 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4 I have my LAN DNS left blank So clients will use the Asus dns server for DNS, which itself will use google. all cool However I noticed I was getting quite a few dnsmasq[314]: Maximum number of concurrent DNS queries...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I am currently using the 'fast' script ##FreshJR_QOS f384 (Fast Method) released 03/19/2018 I read that this is now discontinued as some users had issues. It seems to work fine for me (thanks). Is this script still fairly 'current' or should I uninstall and replace with the regular version It...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

I noticed one minor glitch. Realised my macbook pro was not backing up via time machine - the last backup 2 days ago. It wouldn't start - the disk was not found. Indeed I tried to add a new backup destination and sure enough the router didn't even show up. Went into usb apps/time machine &...

    Anyone try Alpha 384.6

Ah yes that post.. tbh it was too long ago to remember exactly what I did. Perhaps a nvram reset... Though my cable modem was also updated by my ISP. But it hasn't occurred recently. Even when it did in April it was no connectivity across all interfaces and wasn't a loss of 2.4 in particular...
