[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Not yet. I'll have to do some googling for vodafone UK to check, but believe it's UDP 500/4500 which are covered in the script. I may need to do some wiresharking to check. Was just an initial Q really - I don't expect it's the QOS.. but I need to try and pin down. Could also be something simple...

Apologies, router is RT-AC3200, firmware is merlin 380.64_4

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Am I right in thinking the script does now work ok with wiki calling (I'm using vodafone uk, iOS 11)? Similarly facetime? I can see the custom rules in the script which should move traffic into the right container, but need to verify (I'll disable QOS temporarily) as getting some glitches with...

[Beta] Asuswrt-merlin 380.68 Beta is now available

I'll try reflashing ... I too had the squashfs error. However NTP seems to be fine - no errors. Ok reflash done ... the squashfs errors have gone.. (no NTP errors either) This is on the AC3200

    380.67, RT-AC3200 - router goes unavailable for a while

I'm getting some odd behaviour with my 3200 I've not yet pinned down. Last night I was in bed (tired) and tried to play some music on my sonos system. It would play for a while then stop, at times I hit issues with spotify, at times I couldn't even contact the speakers. I went to sleep. This...

    chromecast not connecting

I have an RT-AC3200 with Merlin 380.67. A single SSID covers all three radios. Neither a gen.1 nor a gen.2 chromecast appears to want to connect to the network (even when 2.4 only). I've yet to see it listed on the status screen as associated, though it's possible it does briefly. Both...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I've noticed on a few occasions now that I see my speedtest.net result a little slow (150-160 Mbps) on my PC compared to usual (215-220 Mbps). Few systems are connected. I see little data flow. I disable QOS -> full speed. I reenable QOS (which brings in the adjustments) -> also full speed...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

Presumably also you may have nvram variables set that aren't used... Which the script wouldn't clean Very grateful for the ac3200 change to open vpn. Just a little bit can help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Best rmerlin compatible router to replace expired RT-AC87U

What's your current VDSL modern? The tplink ac1900 I tried a while back was better than hh5a but not a patch on the hg612 modem. Slower speeds and much less stable. Also the tplink was very limited. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Wan Packet Overhead For Qos

Will be doing more reading on the subject. A very interesting area for sure.

    Wan Packet Overhead For Qos

I'm still not convinced by the use of packet overhead when one sets max up/down to the *observed* max rate. I DO see how it applies when it is applied to the max documented line speed such as 100 Mbps Ethernet, a VDSL sync speed etc. I also see how recommendations are often to set the max...

    Wan Packet Overhead For Qos

If one uses the actual max speed test results rather than the published line speed, why would one need to build the overhead into the calls? Isn't that double accounting? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Jumbo Frame Packets

I know the 3200 does. I wonder how relevant they are these days. Sure can increase max throughout but... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    NVRAM almost full?

Ah yes of course you're right... I don't use vpn client so just removed them all, but 1,2 will come back after reboot. Still, thanks a lot for making this change, it will at least save perhaps 2.5-3K :-)

    NVRAM almost full?

You mean like for var in `nvram show | grep vpn_client | sed 's/=/ /g' | awk '{print $1}'` do nvram unset $var done Just saved me nearly 5K :-) I need to look at what else might be removable, but this is a huge step forward (I don't use any vpn clients) so thanks @RMerlin!

    NVRAM almost full?

@Livin - similar issues here. I'm so close to the limit on my AC3200 - 1 or 2k Actually checking today 65527 / 65536 which is on the verge of a catastrophic failure I'm sure... I'm factory reset and the saving is fairly low, and short lived. I have 20-30 systems, only 3-4 statics, 1 openvpn...

WAN packet overhead - QoS - Virgin Media

@mstombs so you are recommending that the overhead should be 0 for virgin media/sh3 in modem mode? And yes. SH3/Arris/Puma6/latency spikes/DOS/Aaarrggghh
