    T-Mobile RT-AC68U Version?

Yes, I've done 2. One is new so i was hoping maybe they were giving out the newer hardware rev, but i guess not.

    T-Mobile RT-AC68U Version?

That works. The newer one I have shows 800Mhz, so I guess that's still the earlier hardware revision. Thanks!

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Wow, talk about reading comprehension. I give up replying to you and will see if anyone else want to chime in.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

I've read the thread. RMerlin suggest a wipe "due to the switch to a new SDK + wireless driver". I don't at all think it's a dumb question to ask why RMerlin thinks a wipe is necessary, but Asus apparently doesn't. Maybe you can just let someone else answer at this point rather than tell me...

    T-Mobile RT-AC68U Version?

Bump on this. Is there a way to tell the hardware revision (cpu type/clock speed) some other way than physical indication on the device?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Wow, you are really helpful. Am just curious why rmerlin recommends a wipe and Asus doesn't.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

What doesn't make sense exactly? Same base, why does rmerlin suggest wipe and not asus? Is rmerlin just being extra cautious or is there a different specific reason?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Yes, and that makes sense. But, the official asus firmware also has new SDK + wireless driver and i don't see them saying that an nvram reset is required? Why the different recommendations between asus and rmerlin?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

I just flashed 380.57 and did not (yet) reset NVRAM and everything, including my 2.4GHz connected devices, appears to be working fine. As far as the nvram reset, how necessary is it really? If it's so important that we do it to clear some settings, why isn't Asus recommending the nvram reset...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

I have 2 of the T-Mobile RT-AC68Us that they have been giving out. They are rebranded to T-Mobile but can be converted to stock Asus. There's no indication on the device though which hardware revision these are. Is there some other way to determine the CPU and clock speed?

OK, thank you for specific links that explain why that program is different from loading the settings from the GUI.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

So what exactly does that do? How is that program any different from just loading saved settings from the GUI?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

Did you come from 378.56_2. Is there a reason that Asus doesn't suggest that we factory reset when upgrading to this base, but RMerlin says we have to? For me, flashing and manually rebuilding all of my settings on 2 different routers will take a good amount of time, plus easy chance i miss a...

    OpenVPN performance

None didn't work when i tried that and i don't see them adding a new encryption cipher just for me, so i guess I'll be at the speed an at whilst using this combo.

    OpenVPN performance

I'm away for a few days, so I'll try that when i get back. In the meantime, here's what vpn unlimited support said. Not quite sure what it means. ___ You can check the instructions published on our web site: https://www.vpnunlimitedapp.com/ddwrtsetup We use Blowfish CBC as Encryption Cipher...

    OpenVPN performance

Yes, that makes sense, but I can't get OpenVPN to work using another other than Default or Blowfish encryption cipher. I assume default must be blowfish then. If I choose any of the AES options, I can't access the internet and the VPN disconnects after a few seconds or so. Would that be...

    OpenVPN performance

I have an Asus AC68U on FiOS 50M/50M and VPN Unlimted and I'm limited to around 30Mbps using "Default" encryption cipher. From reading this, it sounds like I might get some higher speeds using AES-128-CBC. Is that correct? But, I've tried all of the AES options and I can't connect to the VPN...

378.55 Firmware periodically waking up network attached printer

So if the issue of the router waking up the network attached printer does not happen in earlier versions of Merlin firmware, I'd hope that he would be able to find a fix to this in an upcoming version. Do we know if it occurs on the stock firmware that the current Merlin build is based on?

378.55 Firmware periodically waking up network attached printer

I guess no one has come up with a solution for this? I have an RT-AC68U and Canon MG6220 printer that keeps waking up. I'm on Merlin 378.56_2 Any ideas?
