    I tried to use this for the first time on my AX88U because I read that you can force clients to use a local DNS server. I run a Raspberry Pi with PiHole and normally clients on my guest wifi can't connect to the lan because those client's are my IOT devices and that's how I would prefer it...

    Just saw this line in the latest changes made to the 384.12 alpha firmware; "rc: allow experimental AiMesh toggle to survive factory default resets" Not sure what that's going to do.

    I just went back to Merlin on the AX88 and used my 'ole trusty N66 as a repeater. Works pretty good. I just got excited to try to use the mesh thing with Merlin, but maybe try again later.

    I didn't have much luck trying this with my AX88U and a brand new, latest firmware loaded AC68U. I can't even get them to mesh using stock firmware and full resets. I've wasted a lot of time on this....

    Ok, maybe not support it, but include it. There is lots of other closed source code that still gets included in Merlin's firmware.

    This is good news. Thanks for figuring this out. I would like to see Merlin's take on this though. There must be a reason he doesn't support it.

    AX88U dirty upgrade form alpha 1, Bandwidth monitor page doesn't show any speeds on the speedometer looking gauges. Log shows "hour_monitor: dpi engine doesn't exist"

    On my AX88U with a 1gig internet connection it is not working well either. Great idea though and probably works great with slower internet connections.

    Well, I was able to get the WAN to go down with the NETGEAR also.... this is frustrating. I think my ISP is doing something if I am uploading too much or something. Thanks.

    Tried it again this morning with latest ASUS firmware and full reset of factory defaults and manual config. It ran for about 3 hours with my VPN client running on a PC and went down. Very odd scenario.

    Ok, well that still doesn't explain the problem. I've noticed some other people reporting WAN disconnects, just like what mine does. I will try using stock ASUS firmware and see what happens.
