Need help setting up https access from wan to Asus AC3200 and synology NAS

Thanks for the suggestion and I've taken it to work, I've set up a VPN using my Synology as the server. I will disable access to the pppoe router from wan as soon as I'm done. Now the next part, how would it be possible to share files from my synology using some kind of protection? If https is...

Good afternoon lads, I've been trying for days to get this type of secure access from wan to lan, but I keep getting errormessages about certificates from my Chrome-browser. Can someone please point me in the general right direction? I'm perfectly able to gain access to the router and the nas...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

After a whole day of irritation as to why the above happened I read someting about N-devices slowing down AC-networks... Turns out my laptop (N) kept the whole 5G part of the network in second gear. The second I put the laptop on the 2.4G and only the two iPhones on the 5G the speeds went up to...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

I did a lot of testing and there's one thing not quite clear to me. Why do I (using my iPhone 6S as standard testdevice, continuously in the same position, on the couch, about 2.5m/8ft away from the router) keep getting higher speeds when using an old rtn66u as Accesspoint? The speeds of the...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

I've found a RT-AC3200 for €229,- on sale this evening and decided to give it a go, I can get my money back within two weeks if I don't like it. So far so good, I made a backup of the RTN66u settings (set up as pppoe router) and put them straight into the AC3200 and right off the bat it...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

I've been looking quite extensively but in the Netherlands the 'p' version is not available. If I'm correct the device we have here is the RT-AC68U of which also a 'P' version should be available. But the same story here, only the 'U' version is to be found in the shops... Is there a specific...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

Ok before I run off to buy a new router, in short; what would be the quickest responding option for a couple of iPhones 6S? Would there be a noticeable difference between the 1900 and the 3100? To be honest, my iPhone is the most important device on the network. Laptop is actually secondary...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

Hej guys, thanks for the advice. My isp provides a 500/500mbps up and down speed at this point and that speed would be upgradeable (definitely not needed right now) to 900/900. So what you are saying is to replace the main-unit and try to run the groundfloorlevel without an ap.. Would the ac56u...

[RTN-66U] Looking to upgrade to Asus AC router

Hej guys, I've been a very satisfied user of several RTN66U routers over the last couple of years. My current system consists of three of these units and they work together flawlessly when it comes to wireless coverage, handing off and speed untill now. As I'm now in the process of upgrading...

Used to have only a modem with a RTN66u but now a modem/router...how to use vpn?

Ok, so when I logged back into these forums realised that I totallt forgot to mention that in the end I succeeded in discarding the original provider-modem. I'm now using my RTN66-U to do the job which the Fritsbox has been doing so far. I even managed to configure the ports the same way, two...

Used to have only a modem with a RTN66u but now a modem/router...how to use vpn?

Thanks for replying, that would be a LOT simpler. however I don't know if that would require any extra configuration in the Asus? What is OND/ NTD?

Used to have only a modem with a RTN66u but now a modem/router...how to use vpn?

Ok so it looks like it that after several hours of trying and googling I managed to solve this issue on my own. I managed to implement a static route in the Fritz-box to the sub-net of the Asus, disabled the firewall on the asus, enabled JFFS partition where I put a rule in to forward all...

Used to have only a modem with a RTN66u but now a modem/router...how to use vpn?

Hej guys, yesterday my new internet fibre-optic connection was delivered and installed (500mbps up and down yay!) but now I have an issue using the vpn (pptp) server I always used. As my old provider was Ziggo with a cableconnection, I had them put my modem/router in transparent bridge mode and...

WD My Cloud 2.0Tb HDD froze, how to replace?

Thanks for thinking with me on this guys, I got access to other units of the same type, maybe I could try to clone a hdd from one of those, see if it works. It's just for the fun of it, nothing really depends on it, I'm open for other suggestions. Dan.
