    Can the AiMesh main router be in Access Point mode? If I have two Asus routers with Merlin firmware in my LAN and both are in AP mode, is it possible to link them together with AiMesh? And if they can, is it usefull to do so?

    My AC87U logs have few of these errors. Anything that I should be afraid of? These probably don't have anything to do with the dead WAN port in AP mode issue?

    That did the trick. Thanks you! Now the router works with 384.13 firmware. I wonder what has changed in the WAN port code. Why after all these years it suddenly stops working. Especially when my AC88U and AC66U (with Johns firmware) works when WAN port is used to connect the AP in LAN.

    I just can't get the AC87U to work in AP mode anymore. Same thing with 384.12. After factory reset it works just fine, but when enabling AP mode it looks like WAN port won't wakeup and the router doesn't get an IP address. And neither does any device connected to access point.     That's interesting. Anyway now it works, and that's the most important part. I do wonder why it didn't work earlier. There was zero changes also in my router configuration.

    AC87U works quite well with the 380.69_2 firmware. Now the 5GHz channel doesn't change randomly anymore. Previous firmware version was unable to hold the 5GHz channel. It always changed after few minutes or hours even though it was set manually to certain channel.

    Works fine with AC88U, AC87U and AC66U. AC87U is unable to hold wifi channel 52 or 56 with 40 MHz bandwidth. For whatever reason it always drops to channel 36 after ~1 hour.     It doesn't matter what you do with your ASUS router, the facts won't change. Unless you set a static IP for its WAN port, the IP it shows comes from your modem or through it from your ISP. If you got the modem from your ISP, is very common that they push updates or do some other remote...

    For that you probably need to check the modem configuration. Maybe it's not in the bridge mode any more.

    I have an issue also with AC88U. When I change Wifi settings, and click apply, the DNS queries starts to fail in LAN. In the Routers network analysis tab ping works just fine, but on on LAN devices. If I go to WAN menu and click apply from there, the ping starts to work on LAN devices as well...
