ASUS rt-88u - Adaptive QoS not doing it's job (for Gaming)

Two different router's with different QoS implementations both caused PPPoE disconnects? That seems very unlikely. Something else is likely responsible for your PPPoE problems. Did you find anything useful in your logs?

    Displaying clients on larger subnet

I think there are quite a few AsusWRT (stock & other) services that have /24 hard-coded, so yeah, you may never get certain monitoring services to work with your /20.

ASUS rt-88u - Adaptive QoS not doing it's job (for Gaming)

Very. Especially the "automatic" aspect of it. There are projects like codel/cake that try to simplify configuration and generic tech like "fair queueing" that are universally useful but ultimately a good QoS/traffic-shaping configuration requires the user to have a reasonable understanding of...

N66U ping times flake out with Merlin

You could possibly try disabling WiFi frame aggregation and/or certain power-saving features. I would be cautious though, especially since you are just guessing at what might be causing the problem. I think Factory Resetting is the best thing to try first.

N66U ping times flake out with Merlin

Which WiFi clients? I've experienced this as well but it was usually caused by the client, like buggy drivers or power-saving features. Have you reset the RT-N66U to the Factory Defaults?

how to connect to a device in a different subnet?

Are you using double-NAT? If so, don't. You should be able to put the WiFi into AP-mode or simply use only the LAN ports to accomplish this. I'm a bit confused about your network topology though, so sharing that would probably help.

Blocking Ethernet clients from connecting to each other

You would require a managed switch to block clients on the same LAN. Or use the firewall on the actual clients themselves. Or alternatively use both a VLAN aware router and a managed switch. Whenever LAN clients connect to each other it's mostly an ethernet/MAC (layer 2) thing, which a router...

    Book suggestion

It depends how much you know. There are tons of free tutorials & books out there. Like @thelonelycoder said, the particular scripting on AsusWRT-merlin is related to busybox & it's included ash. You could probably install bash though. My favorite book is probably Unix Power Tools. My favorite...

    Should I replace/upgrade my WRT1900AC (MU-MIMO vs Xstream)

Your buffering problem is likely not caused by lack of bandwidth but rather lack of processing power for Plex transcodes. What's the CPU usage on your Plex server when you experience buffering? Plex does not require much bandwidth (Netflix only requires 25Mbit for 4K streams). Make sure you...

    Asuswrt-Merlin Feature Suggestions

AFAIK, it's not even officially "stable" yet and requires modern Linux kernel & driver features which seem to be unlikely with the dated code that Broadcom et al require. Regardless, I concur.

Reduced my RT-AC68U cpu temp by -18c

Aren't there other possibilities? Shorts caused by dust? Hot spots? Other things I'm unaware of?

How to block access from one internal ip to another internal ip

You'd need to block it with a firewall running on 192.168.1.5 host.

    sudo: unknown user: root

or use sed. sed 's/sudo //g' oldfile > newfile The symlink of sudo to /bin/false seems much easier but I dunno enough to know if there would be potential problems.

Reduced my RT-AC68U cpu temp by -18c

I wonder how all the extra dust & crap that's now being forced inside the device will affect the internals. My ancient, fanless, 10+ year-old ADSL2+ modem has ran scary hot with no problems. I opened it recently and it was spotless. No dust. My PCs and other devices with fans get filled with...

Port Scan Results - Router replying to Ping requests

There are free, online nmap scanners. I'd say nmap is the de-facto port scanning standard.
