    Weird, but I couldn't get the 160 to ever show up for my devices. I've tried all of the channels including DFS. According to this article, only channels 50 and 114 offer 160mhz widths.

    I did a Ctrl+F on the general log and couldn't find DNS caching mentioned anywhere. The only thing that came up were several lines about packet caching.

    Does the stock firmware provide DNS caching or only Merlin? I had to downgrade back to stock and noticed that my Pi-Hole is now faster in the DNS benchmarks than the router. Thanks

    AX58U USB Settings: 3.0 or 2.0?

    I got a Brother Laser USB printer that I'm using with this router. It would not work at all if the port was set to 3.0. The moment I changed it to 2.0, it started working like a charm.

    I just got the same router. I got an older iPad mini and after setting up the router it now speed tests at a fraction of what my bandwidth is. No other device in the house has any issues. It's strange. Could it be only related to Apple devices?

    That's the thing. I don't live next to an airport and there aren't any weather radars in my city. So I might be just getting false positives. I'll admit. It's super rare to get bumped off the DFS channel. Maybe only a couple of times a year. But still...

    I see. Last question. Is there a way to unlock the rest of the DFS channels? Is there a trick or a hack to make the router not switch from a DFS channel on its own and permanently use it?

    Sorry. I didn't know what you meant the first time. Do you need for Asus to send you files before the updates can be implemented? Someone mentioned that Merlin is two versions behind factory firmware. I'm new to all this. Thanks
