Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 is now available

There's a bug on XT12 where the LED settings wouldn't survive a reboot. I will need to manually off the LED light on ASUSWRT again after router reboot . Low priority bug. The bug used to exist of ASUS official firmware and ASUS fixed it.

ASUS TUF-AX3000 No Firmware/Security Update Since February?

Even the ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12 receives the last stable firmware update in December that's plagued with bugs. ASUS wouldn't bother to do anything about it.

Honest review of Asus WRT 5.0 (3.0.0.6 Branch)

ASUSWRT just feel really unpolished at this point. It seems that ASUS is expecting the community to perform QA and QC work for them. Having to constantly downgrade, reset and flashing firmware is not okay.

Beta ASUS ZenWiFi Pro XT12 Firmware version 9.0.0.6.102_21517 (2023/06/20)

Been running on this firmware for almost 30 hours and it seems fine Roaming seems to work better, 802.11k neighbor reporting is working well reporting my other XT12 and all the other bands

It took 48 hours, but the mystery of the mass Asus router outage is solved

This is a massive negligence and a huge security loophole on ASUS end. There shouldn't be a single point of failure and I wish ASUS let us disable this feature completely in the future.

    Problems with ZenWiFi Pro ET12

The problem might be due to your Mi 11 Ultra rather than the router. 6GHz support on Wi-Fi clients are hit or miss due to region restriction.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.48706 (2022/05/03)

Mesh node is dropping 5GHz wireless backhaul uplink occasionally resulting in the random blinking blue light Wondered if ASUS even have a proper QA or QC team for their firmware

    RT-AC86U Replacement Recommendations

The extra RAM on faster CPU on the RT-AX86U is very helpful for future proof. 2Gbps Internet is becoming more widely available these days as well.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

Disable AiProtection, parental control, traffic analyzer, QoS and web history. These features will disable NAT acceleration and cause additional load to the CPU which might lead it to crash. The ZenWiFi XT8 have a really slow CPU despite being a $400+ product. It's literally the same CPU used...

    ZenWifi XD4 Don't Work Don't Buy!

AiMesh is just inferior software developed by ASUS. The entire methodology is flawed. Check your roaming assistant settings and you might want to disable that. It will force mesh node to disconnect if signal is lower by that threshold. One more thing, AiMesh will not work reliably if there are...

Roaming Assistant, AiMesh, and 802.11k and 802.11v

The primary roaming mechanics on AiMesh is still roaming assistant (roamast) and the way it works is pretty basic. Roaming assistant (roamast) been around for ages where it will disassociate a client based on signal. And, when your device attempt to reconnect, it will typically opt for the...

ZenWiFi AX wifi speed drops - needs to pull power chord to fix

Perhaps you can try updating the firmware to the latest firmware version and perform a fresh setup of the router. It tends to fix performance issues on ASUS product most of the time.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

Great firmware. Mesh node wireless backhaul connectivity is stable and I have yet to notice any stability issues. Didn't notice any performance issue so far. Fingers crossed.

No firmware updates available for the ZenWifi ET8?

I have the XT8 and I face the same issue. It's really fast when it works but it is unstable on mesh wireless backhaul mode. You can use a LAN cable and run them on Ethernet backhaul which will fix it but it is definitely not ideal.

Release Asus ZenWiFi XT8 - New Firmware: 3.0.0.4.386_45934

I had this issue previously and the only thing that fixed that is disabling roaming assistant. But, doing this will impact your roaming on other devices as well. AiMesh backhaul management will never reattempt 5Ghz backhaul once it's dropped to 2.4Ghz. That's just poor software engineering.

Release Asus ZenWiFi XT8 - New Firmware: 3.0.0.4.386_45934

I agree that the product is fine on Ethernet backhaul mode. I would've used Ethernet backhaul if that's possible. But, the ZenWiFi XT8 is marketed as mesh WiFi system with Tri-Band dedicated wireless backhaul which in reality it doesn't work very reliably on wireless backhaul. It's really fast...

Release Asus ZenWiFi XT8 - New Firmware: 3.0.0.4.386_45934

Stability is really trash tier on this latest software version. I did perform a factory reset and I notice the whole network just got frozen ocassionally and it happens across all devices. The router will also self-reboot randomly which doesn't even have anything showing on the system log...

RT-AX58U looses bandwidth after 2 weeks

The new AX models are just not as good as the RT-AC68U or RT-AC86U. They are prone to random bugs on the WiFi radio. I use the reboot scheduler feature to reboot the router every night. Not ideal but that's the best solution for now.

Can I put one directional antenna on an RT-AC88U in AIMesh, so my boat gets a good signal?

The antennas on the USB-AC68 are supposed to be extended. Try that.

ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (part 3)

AiMesh 2.0 improved a ton but it's still unreliable as before when combining many models in a AiMesh network. Ocassionally devices will roam to another mesh node but being left without Internet access. I guess there's something to do with the new 802.11k/v support on AiMesh 2.0 but it seems...
