    You might check your router temps. I have fans on my AC86U, which keeps the temps between 45-50C. I do not know if they would help an AC88 but they might extend the life of your router and eliminate some of the weird happenings.

    You might look into Fresh Tomato as a media bridge firmware for your AC68. It seems to have more VLAN support than Asus but I do not know how it handles that as a media bridge. Still, might be worth a look.

    You might look at your temps. I have fans attached to my AC86U and experience no WiFi problems that I know of.

    I'm in the same boat with an AC86U. It's been too many revs since 5_2. A dirty upgrade will only cause many problems. When I do the transition, I'm planning to do a full reset and redo.
