Need help with Transmission in OpenWRT.

I installed Transmission on GL.iNet Slate AX router and it its working well for most part, but im new to OpenWRT and I can't figure out why download speeds are slow. I have tested same exact dozen torrents on my Intel based MacBook which saturates my wan speeds, but the download speeds via...

Quick review of GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 / Slate AX.

I’ve been looking for a new router to replace my 8 year old work horse; Asus AC68U. Originally it was labeled as a T-Mobile Cellular Hot Spot and so immediately converted it in to a fool fledge AC68U. It’s been a great little guy but it was time go. A week ago I ran in to Slate AX and after a...

An USB fix on many routers. Get your self copper tape.

Spoiler alert: there are pictures at the end of this post. Last week I picked up GL-AXT1800/ Slate AX and it has been a fantastic little router. I’m in love with this little tank! But, it has a huge flaw that many wifi routers have. USB port interferes with 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz band and over a decade...

Buyer Beware! Stay away from Asus ExpertWifi EBR63.

I was at a local computer store today and I bought it to try it. Its a nice little router but the firmware is a complete freaking mess. After messing around with the router for half an hour, I put it back in the box and its going back to the store. Latest firmware came out less than two weeks...

Trying to Figure Out Why Cable Modem Keeps Losing Connection

Buy an Arris modem at a local store and see if you still have issues. Im guessing that the Spectrum modem is just junk.

    Thoughts on ASUS ExpertWiFi EBR63?

Yeah, I was also thinking of getting a proper NAS from Synology and connect it via lan cable. Im currently using an external hard drive as NAS but, its connected to USB 3 port, and im constantly copying movies and shows on to it to watch on my TV, but speeds are only an average of 18MB/s and if...

    Thoughts on ASUS ExpertWiFi EBR63?

I would like to replace my Asus AC68U with something newer and budget friendly. Main issue which is not a big deal half the time, but the USB 3.0 port is slow when it comes to writing files to an external USB hard drive. And even slower while simultaneously downloading anything from internet...

Download speed still capped after disabling QoS

Are you performing speed tests via Wifi or over a lan cable? Contact your ISP and have them look in to any issues on their end.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 is now available for AC models

I clicked "agree" button on the day I installed the firmware, which was over a month ago. I don't have Adblock installed. All ad blocking is done by adguard DNS that is setup in the router settings in WAN section ( see image ). Im currently running Asus OEM firmware and im not seeing the issue...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 is now available for AC models

Here is the latest issues with v14 firmware on AC68U when login in to the router, there is a missing GUI on the left hand side and other information is missing; see image. Refreshing the page fixes the problem. Im trying OEM firmware just to see if that's all I need for now.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 is now available for AC models

Ive tried their firmware a few times, but the settings are overwhelming and a bit confusing at times. And the biggest downside, it doesn't have proper USB drivers.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 is now available for AC models

Second image, show CPU usage and RAM usage while copying files on to USB hard drive that is attached to the router. While there is no activity of any kind, CPU usage is at near zero ( see first image ).

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 is now available for AC models

RAM usage is low, around 75MB. Only time RAM usage goes up is when im copying a file from a computer to a USB drive that is attached to the router, which hovers around 187MB and afterwards ram drops back down. Or when streaming a movie from USB drive to Apple TV, RAM goes up to around 100MB. I...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.14 is now available for AC models

Im going back to the firmware 386-13 on router AC68U. Despite resetting the router, re-flashing with v14 firmware and resettings the router again, im still having few small issues. 1. After a couple of days the GUI is sluggish thus navigating through menu is difficult. Restarting the router...
