    Home Network Revamp

For the WAP 571 I can use a two port LAG. The LAG is defined as a trunk - are the ports as well? I defined the LAG as a Trunk but the ports still show Access. Only one of the WAPs will be on LAG for now but I have planed the ports to allow others to be lagged as I run the wire. Also, the...

    Home Network Revamp

yeah .... I am not sure what is going on. Took a break after my post - had some lunch, figured I would try once again and see what I could ping. uuhhhh it all seems to be working just fine now - typing from the PC connected to the SG-350X, and to the router. I can ping both 92.168.1.254 and...

    Home Network Revamp

OK, well nothing like a little early morning networking to really make you feel like you have no idea of what you are doing ..... Here are the screen captures you reference - what am I doing wrong? The SG350X does indeed default to an access port currently all the ports and the 2 Port LAG I...

    Home Network Revamp

So very frustrated. Played with this all day and cannot get internet connectivity through the switch. I am clearly doing something very basic incorrectly. RV340 IP is 192.168.1.1 - do not want to change this if I do not have to I can log into the SG350X Switch via 192.168.1.254 when I...

    Home Network Revamp

OK, have updated the firmware and have started looking at my configuration plan. Just to refresh, here are the main components: 1Gpbs ISP service with Modem (Bridged) RV340 Router with Security License - will be the gateway to the internet and run IPS signatures - possibly antivirus signatures...

OK - that was one of the threads I used as a template. the other was titled "How to setup a Guest network on a Cisco SG-300-28 layer 3 switch".

    Home Network Revamp

What I tried to do was summarize the various threads all related to this topic and create a step by step summary. I will try and find a thread on the Cisco Small Business but I have had no luck so far - any chance you could provide a link?

    Home Network Revamp

Really I was hoping someone would review the post and look for obvious errors. Trying to get as smooth a game plan going in i.e. before I unplug everything and have the answer to the "where's the internet" questions on the Homefront ..... What I don't want is to leave up a post with bad info.....

So I am thinking that the posts are just too lengthy to realistically expect responses or input. Pending other input I will delete the posts and ask simpler questions as I go. Would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks - Jason

    Cisco RV-340 Time to Tinker

Was hoping that the new firmware would resolve this but no luck. I am now resolved to using IPS but not the Anti-Virus which is unfortunate. Have written to Cisco tech support a couple of times but have not received any input either through email or via the cisco small business forums.

    Home Network Revamp

OK, so some additional planning. I have tried to create a step-by-step guide for me to follow based on the various related threads. This is a lengthy post so grab a coffee if you are of a mind to help steer me in the right direction. I am getting much more familiar with the concepts but I...

    Home Network Revamp

SONOS specific Question - I control the system either by my iPhone or generally (in my home office) via a windows App. If the iPhones are on the same VLAN as the SONOS system (current plan) then this will work fine, will I still be able to access SONOS via my main PC which would be on a...

Did you ever figure out a solution here? I too had the original circle which I have now removed from my network.

    Home Network Revamp

OK - great - we are on our way! - My thinking here was more multiple users of large files accessing the server - several video streams or backups all happening at the same time. I get that the internet pipe is limited to 1Gbps (currently) but this may change in a year or two. That said for...

    Home Network Revamp

Hi all, I have been considering upgrading the home network primarily as it pertains to security. With the implementation of many IoT devices which will continue to increase, I see this as my primary threat. I took a stab at implementing VLANs last year but could not make it work but now would...
