A Couple of suggestions to the creator of Merlin Firmware

Good luck with the last one...

    Netgear Orbi discussion thread

Don't take it personal, Pete. I was merely stating my point of view of the new gear and if you notice I did state in the second paragraph: "Just let me say, it has some great ideas and should work well for some." I do agree that I am getting old but this dog still enjoys learning new things...

    Netgear Orbi discussion thread

I bought the Orbi from Best Buy a few days ago and played with it for a while. Decided it is not for me and took it back. Just let me say, it has some great ideas and should work well for some. I, a retired engineer, personally like to see a lot of the information about my network devices...

    AB-Solution 2.0 is out! (v2.0.1)

Question: If AB-Solution uses 0.0.0.0 for the address to avoid getting advertising junk what is the purpose of running a pixel server and redirecting to it? Sorry for being naive, just trying to understand the advantage to running both.

[Alpha] Preview builds for Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61

I should have said he usually doesn't fix typos in all the different languages. If it effects functionality, of course he will fix it if he can. Sorry...

[Alpha] Preview builds for Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61

Rmerlin doesn't change the language files. You will need to let ASUS know with a bug report on their web site.

    Development musings

RMerlin: I did some cut and paste from one of the read me text files into Wiki. If you think I did it correctly I could find the time to do some more.

    Development musings

RMerlin: This is probably something that has been talked about many times but have you or ASUS ever talked about having you sign an agreement to give you access to the ENTIRE code base. Would you have to be an employee to have access to the proprietary stuff or sign a nondisclosure agreement...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

Make sure you removed any USB drives and reboot to free up memory.

ASUS firmware will change the verification method

Couldn't they add basic GPS technology to the router at an extremely low cost so the firmware would know what region info to use?

ASUS firmware will change the verification method

I kind of look at it this way. If you have features or requirements that are so important then you really shouldn't be running alpha and beta and the latest and greatest versions of firmware. Let someone else test it until it is very well baked before upgrading. This issue of not being able to...

    AB-Solution 1.06 is out!

I tried v1.05 using the wget command and it worked fine on firmware 380.57.7_HGG-FINAL After noticing an update I grabbed it again so it created another copy appending a .1 to the end as expected so I just deleted the 1st one and renamed the second one. Then I saw you changed the wget command...

[Test builds] 380.58 alpha builds are now available

The proper link to non-beta firmware from Asus is on their support website. Have patience and it will appear when it is ready.

[Beta] Adblock WCHFA (Closed, use AB-Solution thread).

I reinstalled 0.9.5.2beta but this time I did not use the advanced (larger) data file and cbs works without adding any entries into the whitelist file. I'm making progress... :)

[Beta] Adblock WCHFA (Closed, use AB-Solution thread).

These still did not allow me to watch the shows. The only way I have been able to successfully watch the shows is if I remove the AdBlocker scripts completely. Also, what do you mean by "double full stops?"

[Beta] Adblock WCHFA (Closed, use AB-Solution thread).

I tried your suggestions but it didn't work. I even tried a program called urlSnooper2 to see if I could find other urls to add. No luck yet.

Factory resetting and traffic data on USB?

I don't know the answers to all your specific questions but the tool simply allows you to make a backup of your nvram variables and then do a factory reset and restore with minor manual changes vs a complete manual reconfiguration. It saves a lot of work if you have a large network. It only...

Factory resetting and traffic data on USB?

John's tool/utility knows which variables are OK to save. Yes, you can use SSH.
