HELP ASUS RT-AX88U Firmware:388.1 General VPN Connection and Internet Connection Issues

What’s not working? You need to be more specific.

GT-AX11000 or GT-AXE11000 or GT-AX6000: Which one has better coverage?

It will vary and your question is too vague. A router will likely give “more coverage” to a house that’s 5000sqft with plasterboard walls than the same 5000sqft house with concrete walls.

AX86U best practice setting for best wifi performance

No it’s normal. Gigabit Ethernet minus overheads will equate to around 940Mbps.

    Native IPv6 - no LAN IP's populating

You need to ask Giganet to manually release the allocation that’s locked to another router/MAC address.

    Router upgrade

Same situation here. 2900 that’s not performing up to scratch any more. Waiting on the release (and some reviews) of the 86U Pro before I choose which to go with (that or the AX6000).

AX86U best practice setting for best wifi performance

You most likely won’t ever get 1GB speeds over wifi. Using a gigabit WAN drops your throughput to around 940Mbps already.

    Router upgrade

Internals are the same as the AX6000

    Does AiProtection really work?

AI Protect won’t stop viruses. Only if the site is added to Trend Micro’s blacklist. I think you’re misunderstanding how it works

    Router upgrade

The AX86U Pro might be another good option too

    Using AdGuard Home with Unbound

So removing Skynet seems to have fixed the ping spiking issue - for some reason Skynet was tanking the CPU, and it wasn't really doing much for me anyway apart from filling the logs with requests that are blocked by the standard firewall anyway.. However, I am still not seeing any DNS requests...

    Separate SSID on Powerline Repeater

Correct - you are connected to the same network/subnet with no restrictions to other clients, regardless of the SSID being different on the PLA

    Beta RT-AX86U_Pro Beta firmware 9.0.0.6.102_3506

So really the differences are form factor and the additional antenna on the AX6000? And the additional 2.5GB port?

    AdGuardHome Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI) cont.

I can see it getting processed in AGH as being sent over to the DoH /DoT server, but it’s strange the CMD result says it’s going as plain dns.

    AdGuardHome Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI) cont.

Is there a way to check/confirm that AGH is indeed using DoT/DoH as intended? I have my upstreams set to use Quad9's DoT and DoH servers, but when running the Protocol Test from their website (https://support.quad9.net/hc/en-us/articles/10514256222349) I receive a response saying i'm only using...

    Using AdGuard Home with Unbound

Pretty much all instances. I think it’s a CPU limitation with my router as since removing Unbound everything is back to normal again
