Observations on switching from RT-AC86U to GT-AX6000

Observations on switching from RT-AC86U to GT-AX6000

In Canada the GT-AX6000 is currently the least expensive of the three (on Staples) and almost in par with your US price. The AX86U Pro is $390 Cdn, AX88U Pro is $400 Cdn, and the GT-AX6000 is $350 Cdn. Therefore ASUS have clearly different pricing policies in different countries.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

It is more correct to say that several GT-AX6000 users are having high RAM usage and that other routers users have also reported a similar issue.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

As previously mentioned in post #701, it is an old (more than 5 years) USB 2.0 Kingston DataTraveller 16 Gb flash drive connected to an USB 4 ports hub (to avoid heat issue) directly connected into the USB 2.0 port using the default USB router mode (3.): All plugins up-to-date:

    Skynet SkyNet 7.4.0

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

My experience with my USB flash disk (old Kingston 16 Gb) on my present GT-AX6000 and old RT-AC86U have been similar (expected RAM usage). The only time I have noticed a constant very high RAM usage with the RT-AC86U was when I initially also had a WD MyBook 4 TB connected and used as a backup...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

I agree with you that what you do with a disk (like a hard drive) you connect to the USB port can definitively have an impact to RAM usage, especially if you use that disk for intensive read/write (à la NAS) but if your connected USB flash disk is only to be used with the standard addons then...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

Well in that case I must have a defective USB flash disk (an old Kingston 16 Gb) because my RAM usage is remaining very stable at 66% with several addons (Skynet, Scribe, Unbound, Connmon, scMerlin, uiScribe, Entware packages). This is not that simple (the router USB port being the issue), as...

Scribe scribe 3.x_y - syslog-ng and logrotate installer

And this is why I have followed your recommendation even if I was under the impression that I would not have seem that message again nevertheless. Thank you for your dedicated times and hard works for providing/supporting Scribe (and uiScribe).

Scribe scribe 3.x_y - syslog-ng and logrotate installer

Since I did update entware today and also have syslog-ng updated from 3.38 to 4.2, I have followed your advise and ran your provided script (just in case the 'annoying' message only showed one time since the updates...):

scMerlin scMerlin v2 - Service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

Thanks Stephen, as I was suspecting in my prior post, the GT-AX6000, RT-AX88U and RT-AX86U uses the same sensor functions. This will make it more simplier for @Martinski upcomming fix.

scMerlin scMerlin v2 - Service and script control menu for AsusWRT-Merlin

Which means that the GT-AX6000 and RT-AX88U (and possibly also the RT-AX86U) uses the same sensor functions which should simplify the required modifications for Martinski.
