Solved Certain websites will not load

Solved. Changed the MTU from 1500 to 1472, clicked save. sites still broken. Reboot router. still broken. Changed MTU back to 1500. still broken. Reboot router. All the aforementioned sites are functional. Seems to be a bug with how the firmware handles changing MTU.... but since its EOL...

Solved Certain websites will not load

Right. It's more about understanding why its broken than just blindly rebuilding the configs. Helps myself in case happens again, along with the community.

Solved Certain websites will not load

Funny you should ask. A few weeks ago I did try changing it from the default of 1500 to 1472 (largest without Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set) but eventually changed it back at 1500. The UI still shows 1500. Any way to check whats really set in the config?

Solved Certain websites will not load

RT-AC87U on 384.13_10. First, yes I realize the router and firmware are EOL. Something newer is on the way in a week or two. Second, it appears that a handful of notable websites do not load (connection timeout or connection reset) for any device on the LAN. PC, Mac, or mobile – all the same...

High CPU only when no WAN connection

RT-AC87U 384.13_2 Diversion 4.1.8 amtm 3.0 Been having this problem for several merlin and diversion versions, so don't think its specifically related to their latest releases. Basically, when the cable modem (WAN) looses connection, the 2 CPUs on the router are pegged at 100%. This...

Logging maxes out CPU under heavy network load

RT-AC87U 384.9 Recently I enabled the firewall log (allow/deny), along with dnsmasq ( log-queries=extra ), which are all being sent externally via syslog. Also have Diversion + pixelserv-tls enabled. Only during peak internet usage (aka bittorrent on a workstation) does the CPU go to 100%...

    Diversion not starting after reboot

Correct. So those of us who have custom settings on nearly every page, what is the efficient way of saving and restoring those? Taking screenshots and manually setting them is super inconvenient. My static DHCP table has at least 30 entries alone. I'm more inclined to waste an hour with a...

    Diversion not starting after reboot

USB drive I dont think is corrupt.. at least the built in disk checking tool doesnt state there are any errors. No amtm. Swap file is installed on USB. No other customization. Yes, let entware and pixelserv be installed. Came from 384.7_2 to 384.9. hmm, full factory rest I had to do before...

    Diversion not starting after reboot

RT-AC87U on 384.9. Diversion 4.0.7 I've got weekly reboots of the router enabled. Ever since updating to 384.9, Diversion+pixelserv will not start up after the reboot. If I ssh to the router, launch diversion, and then enable it, it works just fine for another week. already tried a force...

[Diversion] failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device

Thanks all for the suggestions. Had a few hour power outage tonight so everything has been sufficiently reset :) A 256MB swap has been created. logging still disabled. we'll see if this fixes the recent issue. if/when this error occurs again, what are the correct command(s) so help properly...

Made it about 11 hours from the reboot until the error started to be logged again. ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AC87U 384.7-2 Sun Oct 21 17:18:24 UTC 2018 admin@RT-AC87U:/tmp/home/root# ps w PID USER VSZ STAT COMMAND 1 admin 5328 S /sbin/preinit 2 admin 0 SW [kthreadd]...

[Diversion] failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device

Because I'm cheap and was trying to get by with an old usb drive ;) Since disabling logging, the usb drive hanst filled up... but the dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device error continues. Hmmm. Maybe something new with 384.7_2 ? admin@RT-AC87U:/tmp/home/root# df -h Filesystem...

[Diversion] failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device

Odd, the Diversion requirements ( https://diversion.ch/diversion/requirements.html ) states min of 500MB. It shouldn't be that hard to tweak the log size / roll over count for dnsmasq, right? Not that familiar with Linux to know where to look and change the setting...

[Diversion] failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device

A 512MB flash drive is plugged into the router. Pretty sure I said no to swap due to the storage constraints. Due to physical space constraints, the USB 2 drive is plugged into the rear of the router.

[Diversion] failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device

How would I check the swap setting? USB is connected to the port in the rear (next to the enet ports).

[Diversion] failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device

Woke up to find no LAN devices could access the Internet. Eventually figured out the router wasn't handing out DHCP any longer. Found the following in the router logs Oct 30 06:42:12 dnsmasq[24902]: failed to write /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases: No space left on device (retry in 60s) Oct 30...

[AC87U] DNS issues post 384.7 upgrade

Thanks all for the pointers, for something overlooked in the changelog. Also eventually got AB upgraded to Diversion too. First attempt, it was partially migrated and then did something to kill the router (both cores 100% cpu for hours; 2nd SSH session not responsive to investigate or kill...
