Granted, the driver has not changed. Parameters initialization might have changed, e.g. I suddenly found my router having an US country code instead of #a.

You can't really block an internal IP (from the same switch), since the switch in behind the firewall, the firewall does protect the switch, but does not work inside the switch. You can only filter something like an internal IP talking to an external IP.

Imho, the difference between the two routers is not big enough. If you want to be ready for the future, buy some Multi-MIMO router or at least an AC87U or AC3200. Of course, they are more expensive.

It's not the firmware, it's the country code. For some reason my RT-N16 has defaulted to US after upgrading to 14E1. So, you may want to change the country to GB (200 mW limit) or something like that.

My trick for getting recovery mode: power off router, press the reset button with a pen and keep pressing, power router on (but keep pressing), wait 10 seconds, also press WPS button (but keep...

BUSIER failure: I have issued the following remotely (by ssh): echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq echo r > /proc/sysrq-trigger echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq echo e > /proc/sysrq-trigger At this point the ssh connection stopped, the router has become unresponsive (no ssh, no telnet, no HTTPS web...
