    [DIY] - SmallNetworks - Learning by Doing

    @sfx2000 Reviewing my doku wiki I put together from the posts provided here I still have some unfinished contents. Specifically "Network Monitoring", "Monitoring", "Simple NAS Server" and "Extras". Just wondering if I missed something or are they not quite finished yet? :)

    [DIY] - SmallNetworks - Learning by Doing

    @sfx2000 I have installed OpenVPN per this tutorial on the Raspberry Pi 3 and configured an Android client on my cell phone. Happy to report it works very well. The Raspy Pi3 does sit behind my router, therefore I had to open the port required for the VPN server to make it work. - Thanks

    Sfx, I also appreciate the effort you have put into this thread. When I first started following it encouraged me to purchase a Rasberry PI 3B just to see what the little box was capable of doing. Well, I am totally amazed at it's performance thus far! The tutorial has been a great wealth of...

    Wow lot's to do! I am working my way thru the fail2ban section and I believe I may have discovered a typo: The line "sudo nano /etc/fail2ban/actions.d/ufw-ssh.conf" should be "sudo nano /etc/fail2ban/action.d/ufw-ssh.conf" No "s" on the reference to the "action" directory. Hope this helps!

    This will give us temps for the Arm devices: #!/bin/sh # Remove the hex "f8" which was surpressing the "C" for celsius and 2 newlines from the file first cpu=$(tr -d '\xf8\n' < /proc/dmu/temperature | awk '{printf $4}') echo "$(date) @ $(uname -n)" echo "CPU => $cpu"

    Works fine on the Pi but not so on the AC87U or AC68U. There is no "/sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp" file on the ASUS devices and no "hostname" command in busybox.

    SFX, I am confused by a couple of your previous edits where you state a post is reposted. I cannot find them at all. Am I missing something? I have been following your thread and recently purchased a Rasberry Pi 3B looking forward to following along. -Thanks.
