    Access Point Advice

@Trip - I wasn't sure if I should create a new post but I'm going to ask here. I decided to pull the trigger on the CBW240 (x2) and I'm supposed to get it at the end of the week. My question is regarding the mounting position of the Cisco CBW140/240 for multi-floor dwellings. Actually, this...

    PoE Injector vs. PoE switch

Hi: As some of you may have seen my other posts about access points, I need to get PoE to whatever AP I decide on. I currently have a non-PoE managed L2+ switch as my main switch centrally located in my house. I was looking at the various PoE injectors on amazon and started to look at those...

    Access Point Advice

@Trip - Hey thanks so much. This really helped my observation between the business and consumer-grade wifi. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Cisco but not exactly sure on which. I was hoping to get a PoE and non-PoE option unit so I have more power options but looks like that...

    Access Point Advice

Hi: I need to get 1-2 access points to cover half my house but I can't decide on what to buy. I have a EdgeRouter-4, and a Asus RT-68U turned into an access point currently. I have a ~2500 sq ft., 2 story home. First floor is CMU and the 2nd floor is wood/drywall construction. I tried the...

router advice with Ruckus R500 APs (Unleashed)

Hi: Will Cisco or Rukus support seamless roaming if you have more than 1 AP? Also, how's the penetrating power on these access points? I have a Asus RT-AC68U and tried the Omada, the power on the Omada power cannot come close to what the Asus puts out.

    NVR & VLANs

Hi all: I have a boxed security camera system that came with 6 PoE (and dc) IP cameras and a PoE NVR. It seems most of the other brand NVR's operate the same so this is not necessarily specific to my brand or setup. My question has 2 parts to it. (1) Does the NVR have a built in NAT since...

    ISP with Fiber Optic

Zyxel was provided by the ISP. I was curious on the specs for the unit but I can't find any datasheets. I did find a post last year on another forum that the person received the same unit for free since the ISP was no longer was using it so this is what made my think my bro should be able to...

    ISP with Fiber Optic

You are totally right. I feel dumb now. Maybe I shouldn't be helping my bro out... I was too fixated on where the fiber line terminated. I believe he did say he connected a laptop to the Zyxel but he was not able to get 500 but he didn't try multiple times and at different times of the day...

    ISP with Fiber Optic

Hi All, I've helping my brother out as much as I know with his whole wireless setup for his home, but my question is about his router/modem. He has fiber optic line to the house and I think a 500/300 service plan. So the setup looks like this: [F/O cable] ---> [grey outdoor box] ---> [cat5/6...
