    just realized it also wortks with only parts of the site/domain. i typed in samsung and finally the tv update procedure gets blocked this means the site samsung uses for updates has samsung in their dns name(but it was not the onces i previous used)

    no DNS director do not know what DoT is but do not think i am using this parental control apps&filters are on but no device is added with a rule this is my wan dns setting

    it is not about the tv apps. it is about the tv being able to search for a firmware update. i tried Colin's suggestion but it does not seem to block it probably block's from a http/browser level but not from a dns level @ColinTaylor is there another way to do this or should it work this way...

    same here. Asus is crippling devices more and more with the excuse to plug security holes(which are not there) it started with killing bootscripts, then they killed SCP and lately they also crippled curl and cru. Synology is doing the same but at least you can still work on a root level i...

    i upgraded from official to merlin. on the official i had openvpn running after upgrading openvpn was disabled, i enabled it again but can not see where to change the datacipher of the current config it is working but there is no drop down list

    upgraded to latest merlin(both router and aimesh node) sofar everything seems to be running well including curl and cron from the default merlin implementation somehow the $idx still gives me problems, to avoid it i just typed in the device instead of the variable. also the cake QOS...

    just upgraded to Merlin. time scheduling is enabled by default. i disabled it and the rule with 18099 is gone. thanks to the search function i was able to solve this

    ok. sounds like a plan. the reason i upgraded to the latest version is that i could use my iphone as a wan backup. since merlin is a couple of revisions behind i will check if that feature is already included. if not i will downgrade to 22525 again for now thanks everybody for helping me out...

    Hi Dave, i tried that. did not work. the problem with curl(which we solved) was totally not logical but this problem is even worse. i am starting to believe asus do not want us to start any script which runs on a regular base with this new firmware

    cron seems to work Jan 29 16:41:00 test: hello Jan 29 16:42:00 test: hello Jan 29 16:43:00 test: hello could it be that they disabled this as well single cronjob:no problem cronjob which executes script:no go well this again will take up a lot of time to figur out what they actually did do...
