    Connecting QNAP TS-453mini.

I can assign each port on the QNAP a static IP using address reservation in my R7800. Is there some option in the QNAP so it knows to use one of its ports for transmitting and the other for receiving?

    Connecting QNAP TS-453mini.

Using one for transmit and the other for receive; is that the same thing as link / port aggregation?

    Connecting QNAP TS-453mini.

So I finally have some time to play with this new-to-me TS-453mini. It does have the dual ethernet ports. Can I connect both ports to any router and assign each port a unique IP address? If it's connected this way, can one port be used exclusively for transmitting and the other for receiving?

IPv6 stops working after a few days on R7800

Probably some far off date like in August...

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

Ok, so a bit of luck (maybe) here. One of my co-workers is offering me his used QNAP TS-453Mini for only $150. It looks like a much better model than anything I was previously looking at. I think I'll take him up on that since I'm still within the return period for this WD EX2 Ultra.

Link Aggregation / Port Teaming in the R7800?

Confused. What's the point of link aggregation between the NAS and GS108T if there isn't a 2gbps connection between the R7800 and the GS108T?
  7. S

Link Aggregation / Port Teaming in the R7800?

Great. How do you setup aggregation between the GS108T and the R7800 so that I can connect both ports from something like a QNAS TS-251 and get that 2gbps connection?

R7800 and issues with iOS/Apple devices on 5GHz

Logging into the R7800's web interface this morning, I saw a notice that a firmware update was available. I'm currently on 1.0.1.28. The new version is 1.0.1.30. The release notes say: [Bug Fix] Fix potential auto-reboot issue. Disappointed that this iOS issue wasn't patched with this...

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

So I have that WD EX2 Ultra now, but haven't opened it yet. If I get the QNAP or Synology, I'd have to get a router that supports link aggregation as I have been told on the Netgear section here that the R7800 doesn't have that feature. Someone mentioned that it can be done with a switch of...

Link Aggregation / Port Teaming in the R7800?

So I'm pretty new to this. How does that work if the router doesn't have that functionality built in (combining two ports for twice the bandwidth)? Does Netgear make any switches with 8 ports or less that can do this?

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

Ok so what about an eSATA hard drive connected to the R7800's eSATA port? I don't think eSATA has the same CPU overhead that USB 3.0 does.

Link Aggregation / Port Teaming in the R7800?

Hmmm... So I have to return this R7800 and choose between the R8500, Asus 5300 or 88U.

Link Aggregation / Port Teaming in the R7800?

Is the R7800 capable of link aggregation (I think it was called "port teaming" on my old Asus router)? If it isn't what recent model router available now has this feature?

    D7800 vs R7800 - Only different 1.4ghz vs 1.7 ghz processor?

Who cares? It was cheap. If something comes up in the future that would cause this router to become useless because it wasn't receiving firmware updates anymore, he could just buy another router.

    D7800 vs R7800 - Only different 1.4ghz vs 1.7 ghz processor?

Looks like a good deal to me for $180. Is it returnable if it doesn't work out? If so, I'd jump on that just to try it out.

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

Ok, so the TS-231 is back-ordered and looks like they completely removed its listing from their site. Only other thing they have is a WD EX2 Ultra. Looks better than the WD My Cloud Mirror so I just ordered the EX2 Ultra instead along with two 4TB WD Red hard drives.

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

Awesome. Thanks everyone! Just ordered the TS-231.

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

Looks like there's a TS-231+ as well. The place I have my gift card for though has only the WD model I listed above and the non+ TS-231. Is the non+ TS-231 still better than the WD?

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

I need just a dual bay unit. What model(s) from Synology or QNap would you recommend? These NAS units look like regular "Folders" within Windows right? Can they be mapped to a drive letter as well? This needs to be easy to use since I have some older non-tech savvy people that will be using...

Netgear R7800 -> WD NAS or USB 3.0 HDD?

I have a Netgear R7800. Looking to add some storage to my network, but am unsure of which way to go. I have the opportunity to pickup either a: - WD My Cloud Mirror Gen 2 WDBWVZ0040JWT (4TB / 2x 2TB) or - 4TB WD Red + actively cooled USB3.0 enclosure for the same price. Which solution...
