    RT-AC66U A1 and non-working 5 GHz

Hi all. I am running Merlin 380.70_0 on RT-AC66U A1. From some time 5 GHz module stopped working: the control band is 0, the temperature is "disabled" but all settings are active. Corresponding LED is on. Yesterday I have performed "mtd-erase -d nvram" command for some specific reason and it...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

    54 °C - 53 °C - 82 °C - but it is RT-AC68U and release channel.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

What about implementing of these feature in the firmware for all territories (moreover territory_code is absent at all in Merlin's CFE)? Or it's not possible because the code that deals with territory_code parameter is closed?

    territory_code=CN/02

    KsWoodsMan I don't think so. As far as I see this setting changes the WiFi power and number of bands only. For instance: USA means: 2.4GHz - all bands 1-11 – 23.25dB/211mW 5GHz - bands 36-48 – 20.25dB/105mW 5 GHz - bands 149-161 – 24dB/251mW Australia means: 2.4GHz - all bands 1-13 –...

    territory_code=CN/02

Happy New Year to everyone! As you possibly know setting CFE value territory_code=CN/02 leads to possibility to change a region for WiFi in web-GUI: This changing leads to easy-to-use setting of legislative restriction for appropriate region without changing CFE/NVRAM. A cons is the interface...

Anyone know what these NVRAM settings do?

I am especially interested in SAR values. Because it looks like sar2g=18 and sar5g=15 always in all routers - so looks untrue. These values come from CFE. There are some reports that sar2g=24 and sar5g=20 improve the signal slightly - but I really cannot understand why. Afaik "SAR" means...

Unbound Why Unbound works on router but not on Windows client?

I am talking about this setting: I don't understand what is the sense to leave it ON if Unbound becomes the only DNS ressolver. Or Unbound respects the policy that was set in this setting? I suspect no.

Unbound Why Unbound works on router but not on Windows client?

I turned it off. I see no sense in this option since Unbound was installed as addon. Just forgot to disable it and I wonder why Unbound installation scrpit didn't check it.

Unbound Why Unbound works on router but not on Windows client?

Damn it, that was an issue! Thanks mate.

Unbound Why Unbound works on router but not on Windows client?

I understand the question is quite off-topic, but it really deals with Unbound. I have successfully installed Unbound on Asus RT-AC68U and it works like a charm. Also I decided to install Unbound on Windows system to have a working DNS that does not relies on provider. It would be quite useful...

IGMP snooping is working or not?

Because (shame for me) I don;t know any multicast use rather than media streaming = IPTV.

IGMP snooping is working or not?

So some kind of IGMP snooping that does not linked with multicast traffic exists? Very interesting ))) Hope @RMerlin will give some thoughts on this double settings.
  13. G

IGMP snooping is working or not?

Because I suspect Wireless settings means nothing when IPTV setting is off. And once again: it's not obvious and I would like to clarify how does it work by design.
  14. G

IGMP snooping is working or not?

It's not obvious. Does the setting on IPTV page enables/disables that feature for LAN side or generally? If for LAN side only - why it's not moved to LAN settings?
  15. G

IGMP snooping is working or not?

Asus RT-AC68U, Merlin 384.18: and in the same time: How could it be? Is IGMP snooping enabled or not?

DNSOMATIC + Multiple AFRAID.ORG DDNS accounts

Hi All. I have created a custom ddns-start script to update DDNS both for Dnsomatic and five free subdomains in Afraid.org Unfortunately CNAME usually cannot be used for aliases in free accounts so looks like it's the only way. Hope someone will find it useful. #!/bin/sh # Update the following...

    VPN Server behind multiNAT

It goes to the wall. Then - to the roof of my building. After that I stopped checking because I have not wings. OK looks like the productive part of our conversation is over.

    VPN Server behind multiNAT

I have no idea. Any recommendation how to check it?

    NVRAM [Release] NVRAM Save/Restore Utility

First of all many thanks to the author who created and maintain this script. It's really useful. As for me - I missed a possibility to create a number of backups and to move them from USB to HDD. So that's why I have created a script that adds this functionality and it can be added to cron for...
