DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 4 388.1 BETA BUILDS?

Is the firmware file extension for your GT-AX6000 a "pkgtb"? I just picked up a GT-AX6000, and that extension is unfamiliar to me having used Merlin on my previous ASUS routers where it's a "ubi.w". Thanks.

Possible to remove them from router-jail?

Are these LaCrosse weather station displays? If so, have you seen the below thread? https://www.snbforums.com/threads/la-crosse-weather-station-fails-to-connect-on-guests-1-2.76669/

    ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 finally announced

Yes, I know that, but I have a particular device, an OPPO 203 Blu-ray player that needs SMB1 to facilitate file playback over the LAN. I know there are other ways, but for now, this is the simplest solution. Thanks

    ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 finally announced

Just powered the GT-AX6000 and after briefly looking through the stock GUI I didn't see a setting for Master Browser. Is that a Merlin FW feature, or did I not look in the right place? Thanks

    GT-AXE16000 Owner's Thread

Would "newer models" include the GT-AX6000 or do you mean newer as in AX-capable in general?

That seems to imply it's a hardware problem; I wonder if that's genuinely the case.

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Oh yes, Black Friday pricing is definitely in play.

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Yes, I have looked at that, but the cost is prohibitive, and I don't need all the speed that my ISP(Sonic) provides anyway; it's their default offering; so a balanced approach of more than a 1 GbE connection but not the expense of a 10G equipment makes the 2.5GbE an excellent sweet spot. Maybe...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

I already have a 2.5GbE switch, two desktop machines with 2.5GbE NICs, and the existing 10GbE internet connection, so the router is the only missing piece. My RT-AC86U still works great, but it will be 5 years old this November, and of course, it's an AC router. I have been looking hard at the...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

So, no configuration will allow a 2.5 WAN port to be used to connect to a 10 GbE internet connection and then distribute that 2.5 GbE to any client that is capable of a 2.5 GbE connection?

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Thanks, that make very good sense.:) So, on the last one, would that mean using two LAN ports plugged into a 2.5GbE switch and then feed 2GbE devices from there?
  13. K

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Yes, I was primarily interested in the actual topology; does it mean that one of the LAN ports has a software switch that could be set to handle 2.5/2.0G, or does it mean combining two disabling one of the LAN ports? I know on my AC86U you can assign one of the LAN ports as a WAN port(which I...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Lifted from the Asus RT-AX86U Pro site: 2.5G/1Gbps multi-Gig port (configurable) -- LAN: 4xGbE (2x port aggregation LAN) -- WAN: 1 GbE -- WAN/LAN: 2.5G/1Gbps multi-Gig port (configurable) -- Multi-Gig: Ability to aggregate two Gigabit LAN ports and two Gigabit WAN ports (configurable)...

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

Good catch, that does seem a bit peculiar. Unless the "Pro" designation means it's been slimmed down by eliminating a radio, some ram, and only has two LAN ports; lighter weight, runs cooler and it's easier to carry home from the store.;)

    Router recommendations for gigabit internet

I've decided on the GT-AX6000, I just need to start a chat session with the Best Buy folks to price match Amazon, and then I can use the $260 reward points towards the purchase.

    It's teaser-time. Because why not.

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

I've been hoping that the RT-AX86U-Pro would grace us with its appearance, but as far as I know, it's still in the ether somewhere. Or at least get a look at the specs.

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

The GT-AX6000 seems to be a nice sweet spot, a bit spendy, but it has some nice features like the two 2.5 GbE ports(WAN and LAN).

Future predictions - which AX router will be supported longest?

The GT-AX6000 has been out for nearly a year now so would it be correct to assume that any issues that might be adverse to performance would have come to the surface by now?
