    If this is what it takes, I'll test it out with 384.15 and see if the wifi is on par with the 86u. I would surely want a stronger 2.4 as my home is just ok with a single router.

    I am observing the same issue. I got the AX88u to replace my 86u but sadly the 86u is back on track. And the store does not have a return policy. Disappointing.

    Although that would be a viable option in most scenarios, openvpn does not work in this region and hence cannot change. I can install multiple vpn clients but sadly none will sustain a stable connection.

    I believe Netflix has internal servers and routes that you would have to exclude. Ask astrill support and they might help. Also why would you need to exclude Netflix anyways?     The provider has some kind of encrypted data shaping. So after a few days the speed drops to 50% or so. With the nightly restarts the speed is always on its max. The script is fairly easy to add. btw: astrill just had a black friday deal which was about 6.50 pm.

    Port forwarding does work very well with astrill. besides astrill has a custom firmware that works very stable in some places where openvpn does not function right. the one change I have had to make is the nightly restart script which keeps the connection stable.

    Are the routers from the same region. I believe that was a limitation earlier. I have a Chinese version of the 86u and am thinking of buying another one as a node. I wonder if the US version will pair with the chinese version as a node.

    I didn't know you could run more than two, but as you mention, I may be wrong. If you route the VPN to a device then it should stick to that device. VPN's run on CPU and I believe one VPN will take up one CPU. If you have 5 VPN's then that may be the issue.

    No, I think you and I should save for now. The AX is still in draft and there aren't clients that can use it for now. I've searched but have not found any compatible with my laptop. or else I would have gotten the AX88. Regardless, the CPU needs to be upgraded to achieve higher speeds over VPN...

    Unless I hard wire, my wifi on the laptop can't go over 330 Mbps without VPN. It struggles. The only way to see true 500 mbps would be to hardwire and disconnect vpn and it then jumps to 500. I guess time to upgrade laptop as well :)
