    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

@RMerlin - Thanks for the long form answer :)

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

If all you are seeing in Networkmap is MAC addresses, it means the clients aren't supplying a hostname (some clients I know that are like this are Vizio TVs, nVidia Shields, and some Ring devices). For those to show a name, you need to either - assign a static IP under LAN > DHCP Server, or -...

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

Those two are usually problem free with respect to generating rebind warnings. Tiktok seems like a likely candidate....

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

What router? The only recent wireless change was on AC68 that did pick up a new wireless driver with the FragAttack fixes after release 49. I haven't seen any problems across my devices with that update, if anything maybe a bit better (but probably just normal variation).

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

You may want to try a different DNS server. For example, NextDNS with DoT is basically unusable for me generating lots of rebind attack messages....

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

My bad ....I'll remember to update it in the future. Thanks for pointing it out.

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

That's actually a really good question :) When I started out, I used the instructions on Merlin's wiki, but those don't really match up anymore. Give me a bit, and I'll work on putting together some doc and simple scripts to do a build. I've also adapted some things from Merlin over...

Johns Fork rt ac56u possible problem

Very strange..... The code does indeed do two different things in an attempt to minimize reboots. Changing to native ipv6 or updating native ipv6 will cause a reboot....disabling native ipv6 uses a faster reconfigure routine without a reboot. I tested on my AC68 and it works fine, so not sure...

Also check that the first line is a proper shebang #!/bin/sh I've seen cases where it was inexplicably corrupted or had an extra leading character inserted...

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

I don't have an idea on this one??? The only thing that enabling WINS does is add a couple of lines to the samba configuration file. When I did a code review, I did find a problem setting up dnsmasq for WINS, but it would only affect samba WINS when it's running on the 'main' router (dnsmasq...

IPv6 config giving log error message

In this case, the 'doc' is a text file I package with every release that lists options which at the time of release are unique to my fork. It includes info on nvram only (no gui) options that have been included either for debug purposes or to address special requirements that most users would...

IPv6 config giving log error message

@strubbly I think I'm going to faint! Someone who actually takes the time to read the documentation!!! It was a while back, but the ipv6_isp_opt settings were put in when I was working with someone in the UK on IPv6. While it looks like things have settled down quite a bit, there's still...

Johns Fork rt ac56u possible problem

@pattox - Do you have IPv6 active? There are some comments in the code around the routine that needs to be used to set the new routes that it can hang sometimes with IPv6 active. I may need to check for IPv6 and force a reboot instead of a net restart. That's what DNSFilter is for....may be a...

    Samba Not working

For For LinuxMint, try rebooting the Mint PC. Nemo file manager doesn't always refresh correctly when the available shares change. Also, see this page for another change which may help the above.... https://dev.to/rubiin/ubuntu-increase-inotify-watcher-file-watch-limit-kf4

    Samba Not working

It should work on Windows 10 without enabling SMBv1 since the router firmware includes wsdd2. Make sure Function Discovery Provider Host and Function Discovery Resource Publication services are set to Automatic start and running.

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

You are welcome....this was a tough one. Thanks again to everyone who was able to spot the data that pointed to the memory leak. One thing that maybe I didn't make clear or emphasize....I'd recommend updating for the ARM based routers as well. Even though I never saw a reboot on the ARM...
