    This works if you hard reset the AiMesh Router. I have not combined with a hard reset of the node.

    First thing to try is to power down both units and then power back up again. Then try the upgrade. If that fails again then download the firmware and do the upgrade manually. BTW if you save off the configuration, you can hard reset and get back to where you were pretty quickly.

    If you are still not getting any success, try one of the other wireless bands or a direct ethernet connection to the router. You mentioned a firmware upgrade, was that recent? Was that when you lost GUI access? If so power down the GT-AX11000 for 30 seconds and then power it back on again...

    What is happening when you try to access the GUI on the GT-AX11000? Are you using the IP address or router.asus.com ?

    Google really are messing up YouTube at the moment, when did you do the test on the RT-AC5300? Do you still have it? If yes can you try it to see if the problem goes away. If it does then at least we can prove it's definitely a problem with the GT-AX11000.

    BTW Google have been gradually killing Chrome for years, it's more likely the issue is with your browser than it is with your network connection. Same goes for most other browsers trying to use the updated Youtube interface, Google have nobbled them.

    Load latest firmware. Then hard reset. Configure it again, don't load a back up. Set the 2.4 channel manually to 6 with 40 Channel Bandwidth, Wireless Mode N only. If it still isn't right after that complete clear out you should probably contact Asus support and send them some logs.

    I've never used the 2.5G port, according to the manual it is supposed to prioritise packets for Gaming. Not sure what that means in reality.
