Another Cheap Moca 2.0 non-bonded adapter

Some input based on my experience with the Arris, which is my main router with FiOS: You cannot permanently disable MoCA phy, it seems to come back on via remote management from Frontier. You should leave Network Controller turned off, which means automatic. You should always let MoCA...

    Defective Actiontec ECB6200 ?

Good. This is consistent with most testing I've seen. As to why it works, I'm not certain. however, if I download from a site with fat pipes (say drivers from nVidia) I get full speed (in my case 500Mbps from my ISP). Similarly with SpeedTest, etc. Have you tested coping very large ISOs...

    Defective Actiontec ECB6200 ?

Let's see if running iperf3 with the switch affects speed. I can't tell if the OP is complaining about a decline in speed now, or if it' has always been this way, or if he only just now tested. However running iperf3 without parallel thread will get you far less than 900Mbps, so I'd like to...

    Defective Actiontec ECB6200 ?

Try running iperf3 with in parallel mode: iperf3 -c 192.168.1.0 -P10 Of course use your iperf3 server address. With MoCA 2.0, I can only reach 1Gbps speeds with parallel mode.

    Zyxel HLA4205 GUI?

    Here you go:

    Zyxel HLA4205 GUI?

The GUI seems pretty stock Broadcom; will post soon. Meanwhile, there's on way to change the IP and there is no security (no user name / password required to log in). Perhaps there are some hidden pages, don't know.... this much so far was well hidden (e.g. not documented).

    Zyxel HLA4205 GUI?

For everyone's benefit. Indeed there's a GUI. You can access it via 192.168.1.3.

Speed Test (Verizon FIOS 1Gbps vs Comcast 600Mbps)

Have you tested during various times of the day? Try at midnight or 7AM and see, if you are then getting good numbers it may be the access node (OLT) is congested. As for the test,of course try from Ethernet and download the speedtest.net application. Go to the nearest Verizon site (by miles).

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

I hear ya.... I get pretty obsessed as well. The smaller the problem (such as this one) the more it bothers me. :) I went out and purchased a bag of 50 compression Belden connectors and the tools to clean up my RG-6. Lucky my house had quad-shielded cable already. I would ground it though...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Yes, this would be good. At least finger tight, although I use a 7/16 wrench and gingerly tighten. The official specs call for 15 lb, but I wouldn't go that far :) http://www.rfcafe.com/references/electrical/connector-torque.htm

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

My understanding is that: Rx Errors (bad) are simply malformed, meaning they do not pass as valid Ethernet packets and therefore they are recorded as being in error. It will need a retransmit. Rx Dropped are packets that are intact, however they fail the checksum, and therefore the adapter...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Only other thought is turning off "Preferred NC" on the Gocoax. Let the network negotiate the controller. Sounds like which every network (the Gocoax or Nextbox) becomes active first trumps the other....

I'm looking for a good pair of powerlines with a filtered pass-through outlet

A few questions: What was the issue with the WIFI option? What speed / latency do you need? What excluded MoCA? No coax in the location(s)?

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Good work methodically testing @rmann2020. Does sound like indeed there is something about the Gocoax adapters that do not like the Nextbox. The screenshot seems normal (to me), for that moment while everything was coming up. In test 7. do the Gocoax adapters work and you can transfer...

    MoCA adapters generate "dropped packets"

Sounds good. That's why I suggested you rotate the adapters, as it's unlikely that the problem is coming from a MoCA adapter *not* directly connected to Ubiquity. Since all traffic enters from one adapter, then that would the likely culprit.

    MoCA adapters generate "dropped packets"

I would start by asking Ubiquity what "error code 10" signifies. But assuming it's just corrupted Ethernet frames, perhaps you could start by (a) changing the Ethernet cable that feeds the MoCA adapter. (b) Change the MoCA adapters around so a different one is taking the incoming Internet feed...

MoCA Adapter Not Working Help Please - Newbie

The device you point out (https://imgur.com/gallery/UzjHpZk) is the power supply to an amplifier, like these (https://www.amazon.com/coax-cable-amplifier/s?k=coax+cable+amplifier). That might be a problem as MoCA tends not to make it through them unless specifically designed to work with MoCA...

MoCA Adapter Not Working Help Please - Newbie

No problem. As Degrub mentions, you should test the two adapters via a single RG-6 cable on the floor. Just next to each other and see if they sync; if that works, then test by having one in the office and the other in the attic. Nothing else.... If both of those work, then we move on...
