Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Read somewhere (longtime ago) that some pages like "Network map" (first screen) and "System Log" (first screen) never log you off, despite logout setting while others do. Which page exactly doesn't follow logout setting? I never touched it, but will try it over here.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Hi there, Working fine, one minor thing though. Uploading the restore settings (settings_xxx.cfg) file takes a long time (over 5 minutes). Regardless whether after a hard reset or not. Settings_xxx.cfg was created after a fresh install of the same FW version i.e. it is NOT an old backup. It...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 Beta is now available

1 First switch it off under: Network Map > System Status > Aura RGB (2 must read "on") 2 Then again under: Administration > System > Basic Config Note: if you've first switched it off under 2, option 1 will be greyed out and lights will stay on. Worked for me, in this order.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.5 is now available

Hi, I get the feeling that some people are downgrading to version 3004.388.4 (as supposed being a more stable version) for various reasons. Though i'm currently not facing problems myself, it makes me wonder: Should i be worried? Regards, Kees

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 is now available

I see, there's however no such option on the client side. There seems to be no way to transfer VPN config/settings, not just certificates. It is not enough to just copy the "/jffs/openvpn" folder.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.2 is now available for select models

Backup your jffs partition. After resetting, use SCP to copy "custom_clientlist" and "dhcp_staticlist" back to /jffs/nvram from the backup_jffs.tar file. Then reboot. Another way is to add these reservations to jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf.add Here's some useful info on that method...

    Is my AC86U toast?

Yes, there are more screws under the label. AFAIK you don't need to remove the ones shown in the image. They are there to hold the foot stand. The case is generally similar to the 68U (TMAC1900). So I'll point you to instructions on its disassembly

    Router upgrade

    - No fans or anything extra used for ventilation, in a (5-side) closed wooden cabinet. - Any brand will do, as long as it makes you :D Edit1: Although i found no cooling issues (yet), placing a simple fan on top of the router (on the perforated "rog" letters) made the CPU temperature drop 9...

    Router upgrade

Purchased a used GT-AX6000 yesterday as an upgrade/replacement for my RT-AC2900 (RT-AC86U). This new rig is a brick house  ! Edit1: Higher Signal strength and throughput in and around the house, garden and shed. Structural robustness and no more cooling issues (Tcpu < 60 degr. C ; placed...

Review New In the Charts: ASUS RT-AX86U

Hi, I don't know about the AX86U, but i've owned an AX88U. I wasn't happy with it, because of weak 2,4 GHz performance with both Asus's and Merlin's firmware. Ended up sending it back for a refund. Got an AC86U at the moment and i'm very pleased with it, but as time goes by i'm sort of...
